Welcome Back, HMS!

Summer will soon be behind us, and we are looking forward to a brand new school year! We hope you all had a smooth first week, and are thrilled to be welcoming new families to our community and welcoming back our returning ones.

It was great to see so many new and familiar faces at the student walk throughs! As many of you noticed, we are kicking off our annual dues campaign - thanks to all those who stopped by our table to donate! We ask for a suggested donation of $45 per family: Venmo @HMSPTO-1103), to help fund various events and activities throughout the year-- staff appreciation, cultural enrichment, mini grants...and more. Please put your child/children's names and grade levels in the notes. Last year we hit over 90% participation (any amount applies!) and the students received a special treat. Let's go for that again, HMS! We thank you in advance for your contribution!

We are excited for our upcoming Fall PTO grade parties -- please save those dates (10/16 for 6th and 8th and 10/23 for 7th) and stay tuned for more details and volunteer opportunities in the weeks to come!

All are welcome at our upcoming PTO meetings -- September 15 and October 13 at 10AM in the library. These meetings are a great way to stay engaged and involved at HMS, hear updates from Principal Smith and learn all things PTO. Superintendent Katie Roberts will be joining us at our September meeting to speak about building projects going on around town.

Lastly, going forward, you can expect to receive this PTO newsletter the first Monday of each month directly from the PTO's Constant Contact, and please try to read it top to bottom so you don't miss any important upcoming events for you our your student.

Dues Campaign Kick-Off

Where is your donation going?

Our PTO runs one big fundraising campaign per year, and this is it! We heavily rely on these funds to help support our school in so many different capacities.

We support grade level community building events, One Book, One School activities, our yearly cultural enrichment assembly, monthly staff appreciation events...and more. Last year we approved and sponsored 23 teacher mini-grants!

We ask for a suggested donation of $45 per family (NOT per student). Venmo @HMSPTO-1103 or cash/check made out to HMS PTO and dropped in office. Please note your child/children's names and grade levels.
