38 years ago, Ronald McDonald House Charities opened its one hundredth "House that Love Built" in New Hyde Park. Since then, we have grown, expanding our support to ill or injured families with two RMHC Family Rooms at Stony Brook Children's and a new Ronald McDonald House coming soon to Suffolk County in 2026.

Helping sick children and families since 1986

Twelve years after the first Ronald McDonald House was established in Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park opened its doors. Thank you to our outstanding community of support and everyone who has donated their time and talents to help us meet families' needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

New York Islanders x Clark Gillies Foundation

Earlier this month, the New York Islanders and Clark Gillies Foundation donated $200,000 to renovate the second-floor media room. Their donation will allow us to serve more families in a custom, hockey-themed room complete with lockers and Sparky plush toys!

RMHC New York Metro was fortunate to be the recipient of a $200,000 donation at the Annual Blue Dream Summer Gala hosted by The Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons. This gift will directly support the Capital Campaign to build a Ronald McDonald House in Suffolk County, opening in 2026!

No child should fight cancer alone.

When your child is diagnosed with cancer, your world is flipped upside down. During such a difficult time, Debbie found care and comfort right inside the hospital. The Ronald McDonald Family Room provided Debbie Waller and her family with a space to recharge in between her daughter's treatments at Stony Brook Children's Hospital.
