September 2018 - Head of School Newsletter
Dear Parents,

The school year is well underway, and I think we are off to a terrific start! It is wonderful to have the building once again filled with students and all the enthusiasm and energy they bring. I hope you all enjoyed attending Back to School night; it was great to see both new and returning parents filling our classrooms.

Your students may have noticed some small differences this year, and they are all in support of one goal: to provide our students with the best education we possibly can, maximizing high quality academic time, in a loving Christian environment. One of the changes is the addition of wall-mounted cell phone holders in most classrooms. We are hoping that this small measure will result in fewer distractions and more quality time spent focused on academics!

Arriving to school on time, being in dress code, and not allowing morning/coffee drinks are not new policies, but they are ones we are encouraging students to remember. The less time our staff spends discussing these small issues equals more time spent on the important stuff, so we thank you for being so diligent in sending your student to school on time, in dress code, and ready to learn! Students may absolutely bring water bottles into the classroom, but will be asked to throw away other beverages when they head to homeroom. Our students have been responsive to these things, and their obedience and good attitudes really illustrate the Chapelgate difference: we have a wonderful student body that not only takes their academics seriously, but also supports their school community well. I am proud of them!

Our fall sports are up and running, and I encourage you to come and check out a middle or high school volleyball match, soccer game, or cross country meet- they are a lot of fun, and our students truly appreciate spectators - it's the best kind of support! Click here to see our athletics schedules for the fall . Parents and students are encouraged to email me sports photos for inclusion on our school website and Facebook and instragram pages! They can be emailed to Tag your photos on Facebook and instagram with #chapelgateacademy so we can all share in the fun moments!

Lastly, I hope you all will consider joining us on Tuesday, September 18th at 7pm in the Media Center for our first Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting. This group will allow parents to plug into CCA and find ways to further enhance and support our great school!

As always, if there if is anything I can do to support your student or family, please don't hesitate to let me know. I am as close as your phone, and I am happy to be of service to all the members of our Chapelgate family!
