FOOTBALL

The Sunny Hills Lancers Football Team is off to a great start! The Lancers finished their non league schedule and the month of September with a record of 4-1. The Lancers hold wins over Westminster, Cal High, Canyon and Sonora HS. The Lancers only loss so far this season is against Long Beach Wilson. The Lancers got healthy over the bye week and are excited to open league against Marina, who won the Lambda League last year. GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL


Girls Flag has had a dominant first half of league. The Lancers are currently 5-1 in league including a big double overtime victory over La Habra. The Lancers should earn a CIF berth and are now pushing for a league title! We are currently 12-7 looking to finish off the season strong!

CROSS COUNTRY

Lancers XC Lancers Cross Country had a great showing at the Wayne Walker Invitational at Ralph B. Clark Park. The Lancers earned some really good PR’s and had a record year for participants. The Coaches and Booster club did a great job of hosting our annual cross country invitational.  The Lancers kick up action with more races and invitationals in the month of October!

GIRLS GOLF

Girls varsity golf  Lindsay Shin earned the medalist spot against Valencia High School at Alta Vista Country Club with a +2, 39, and against Troy at La Mirada Golf Course with an even-par, 36.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Girls volleyball finishes September with a bang! All levels with winning records. The volleyball program is once again in the Crestview League, the toughest league in the Century Conference. The ladies are the defending League Champions and have jumped out to a 5-1 league record and a 17-5 record overall. The Lancers are currently tied for 1st place with Cypress. October will be very exciting for the Lancers.

GIRLS TENNIS

Sunny Hills Girls Tennis dominated the competition in September finishing their preseason with an overall record of 8-0. The Lady Lancers were led by Maya Orton, who went undefeated during the preseason with a record of 22-0 in her singles matches. On the doubles side, Ella Ward and Julianne Tubiera also went undefeated during the preseason winning all their doubles matches. The girls tennis team had a wonderful senior night where we were able to celebrate our amazing 8 seniors! The Lady Lancers now look forward to League play where they are hopeful in trying to secure a playoff spot in CIF in October. Let's go Lancers!

BOYS WATER POLO

Sunny Hills Boys Water Polo is on track to win every home game of the season! They have spent the month refining their game with the hopes of qualifying for the playoffs in October. The team opened up league play with a program sweep against El Modena. The boys are 11-8 right now and look forward to picking up more wins in league in the month of October!

Girls Flag Football - Compassion in Action. Before kickoff, Kiera Suh and Noelani Canotal paused to help an elderly couple into the flag football game—then rejoined their team on the field. Their kindness reminds us that true champions shine both on and off the field.

Lancers Scholar Athletes of the Month are selected by earning the top GPA in their respective sport for the month!

Gold Status - Athletes of The Month

Lindsay Shin - Girls Golf

She led all varsity golfers with the lowest scores in every match she played in. She was the medalist vs Valencia on 9/9.


Maya Orton - Girls Tennis

Maya has won every singles match she has played this year leading Sunny Hills Girls Tennis to a 8-0 overall record so far this season. Maya has an overall record of 22-0 for her singles matches this year!


Sydney Kim - Flag Football

Leads the team in flag pulls (on pace for probably 120), she currently has 107 and over 43 sacks. She is 17th Nationally in sacks and 57th Nationally in flag pulls.
