As I look over all the different events scheduled in the Metro Detroit area in the coming months, I am excited! Organ culture is alive and well in Detroit. Each event represents hours of planning from committees and music directors, financial resources by the host venues, and countless hours of practice by the performers. The best way to reward all of this hard work is with your presence. Imagine how much more vibrant our local organ culture would be if each member made a point of attending at least one concert in the next few months. Imagine how much more vibrant our own chapter would be if each member made a point of prioritizing chapter events, spent time calling other members to gather socially, or just sent an email to check up on that colleague they haven't seen in a while. The first event you should mark in your calendar is our Rising Stars concert. Our chapter has been enriched by the dozens of new, young organists who have joined our chapter over the past year. Come and hear a sample of the amazing talent within our own chapter.
