Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, | |
As the days of summer slowly slip away and the first hints of autumn begin to appear, September invites us to pause and take notice. The carefree pace of summer gives way to familiar routines, new beginnings, and a renewed sense of purpose. In the life of the Church, this change of season can also remind us that God is continually inviting us to begin again—to grow in faith, deepen our prayer, and recognize His presence in the ordinary moments of each day.
September is a month filled with beautiful reminders of God’s love and the example of the saints. As we turn the page from summer to a new season, may we carry with us its memories, joys, and blessings, while opening our hearts to all that God has in store. Like the changing seasons, our faith is ever-growing, calling us to trust, to hope, and to follow where the Lord leads.

CATECHETCIAL SUNDAY
SEPTEMBER 20, 2026
Catechetical Sunday was inspired by the Vatican document Provido sane consilio (On the Better Care and Promotion of Catechetical Education) published in 1935. This document asked every country to acknowledge the importance of the Church’s teaching ministry and to honor those who serve the Christian community as catechists. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops designated the third Sunday in September as Catechetical Sunday.

Our Lady of Sorrows
Feast Day - September 15
Our mother of sorrows, with strength from above you stood by the cross,
sharing in the sufferings of Jesus,
and with tender care you bore him
in your arms, mourning and weeping.
We praise you for your faith, which
accepted the life God planned for you.
We praise you for your hope, which
trusted that God would do great
things in you.
We praise you for your love
in bearing with Jesus the sorrows
of his passion.
Holy Mary, may we follow your example,
and stand by all your children who
need comfort and love.
Mother of God, stand by us in our trials
and care for us in our many needs.
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
Amen!

The Archangels
Sts. Michael, Gabriel & Raphael
Feast Day - September 29
Heavenly King,
You have given us archangels to assist us
during our pilgrimage on earth.
Saint Michael is our protector; I ask him to come to my aid, fight for all my loved ones,
and protect us from danger.
Saint Gabriel is a messenger of the Good News; I ask him to help me clearly hear
Your voice and to teach me the truth.
Saint Raphael is the healing angel;
I ask him to take my need for healing and that of everyone I know, lift it up to Your throne of grace and deliver us back
to the gift of recovery.
Help us, O Lord, to realize more fully the reality of archangels and their desire
to serve us. Holy angels, pray for us.
Amen.
