A Pictorial History of Ships in Rhode Island

Tuesday, Sept. 10th- 6:00pm


Join us as Astrid Drew, Archivist for the Steamship Historical Society of America, presents an overview of vessels that would have been seen in the bay from the earliest years of steamships up to more recent times. This program is in partnership with the Narragansett Historical Society. Registration is required.

Hearing Loss & Winning Solutions

Wednesday Sept. 18th- 1:00pm


Join us for a presentation by Prof. Nancy Shuster based on her book Hearing Loss and Winning Solutions. Professor Shuster uses a cochlear implant for hearing and the book is based on her finding solutions to hearing loss since becoming deaf overnight. She will offer her book as a $10 donation towards the library.

Do you have too many plants? Can you spare a cutting? Donate it to the library’s free event. Maybe you don’t have any plants to donate….please join us anyway as you can pick up a plant for your collection. Plants & cuttings can be dropped off between Sept.16-20 or the day of the swap. 

RI 39 Club: Your Passport & Guide to Exploring Rhode Island

Youth Services Programs

Safe Sitter Course

Tuesday, Sept. 10th- 9:15am-2:00pm


Participants ages 11-14 are invited to attend a free "Safe Sitter" course, provided by Lifespan. This course is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone or watching younger children. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Pizza & juice will be provided. Registration is required.

Eureka! Animal Jeopardy

Thursday, Sept. 12th- 5:00pm


Children grades 2-5 are invited to participate in Animal Jeopardy! We will play a fun guessing game about animals and learn more about them too. We may have an animal guest as well! This program is provided by Jane Deming of Animal Rescue Rhode Island located in Peacedale. Registration required.
