"MPI is a heart thing, not a head thing!"

Do you smell fall in the air?! It’s still hot out, but we all know fall is coming as busy season ramps up! There is no exception with MPI Tennessee as we look forward to hosting a great educational event at LabeLive in Franklin with Deborah Gardner. I want to wish everyone attending IMEX in Las Vegas safe travels, lots of business success at your meetings, and lots of fun at MPI’s Rendezvous event to support the MPI Foundation. Save the dates for October’s educational luncheon, Membership 101, community service in partnership with ILEA, and Leadership Academy. We have a lot going on this fall with great information and opportunities to connect with your peers!
As you get busier, remember what Organized Audrey told us at our August luncheon about taking time to unplug from the screens, volunteer for something, and have a hobby you’re passionate about. If MPI Tennessee can help you with any of those, let us know!
Happy Fall, and with love…. Go Vols!

I enjoyed meeting many of you at your recent chapter meeting at Ole Red. I loved the energy in the room with so many attendees present. I presented The Myth of Catching Up and if you missed it, some key points included:
- Standardize the start of your day as it will invite productivity. By reviewing your calendar appointments and To-Do items first thing, you’ll be reminded of the important items requiring your time without getting drawn into your Inbox.
- Be consistent in writing clear and concise emails. Use descriptive words in your email’s subject line, signaling to the recipient(s) actions required.
- To better manage your time throughout the day, mute ALL notification sounds and symbols as these are designed to get a response from you 70% of the time. And if you'd like a non-techie tool in planning out your day, download my First Fifteen worksheet. It's available here along with other resources.
- Bring more balance to your life by unplugging from ALL technology (including television) on a daily basis.
- Spending as little as 10 minutes with a hobby will take you to your Happy Place because your brain begins to produce endorphins, which automatically work at lowering your stress levels.
Thank you for the opportunity to present for your chapter.
Warm regards,
Audrey Thomas, CSP
