Director's Notes:
This fall, there are many exciting events to learn about the research, innovation and entrepreneur ecosystems in Missouri. In St Louis, the BioSTL Vision Small Business Innovation Symposium is taking place on October 18th and Startup Connection is happening on November 6th. In Kansas City, the BioNexus KC Annual Dinner is on October 10th. If you want to meet women entrepreneurs and learn about raising capital in Columbia, attend the CoMo Women Investment Network for Entrepreneurs (W.I.N.E.) on September 30th.  
 
Don’t forget to register for two events that the Missouri Cures Education Foundation is hosting in St. Louis. On October 8th, Brews & Breakthroughs and the St Louis Women in Science, Entrepreneurship and Research (WISER) Conference on November 1st.

Anne Miller is the Director of Research Commercialization for the Office of the Vice President for Research at Saint Louis University. She oversees the University’s intellectual property portfolio and industry contracting activities. In addition, Anne and her team work to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through programs such as SLUStartI-Corps. We are proud to feature Anne as a panelist at our 2019 St. Louis WISER Conference.
Meet a Researcher
Dr. Rochelle Henderson oversees Express Scripts’ clinical product evaluations and publishes applied research in peer reviewed manuscripts. She has 24 years of experience in health services research and has conducted pharmacoepidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic research. Today, she uses that experience to focus on the economic evaluation of drug therapies. We are proud to feature Dr. Henderson as a panelist at our 2019 WISER St. Louis Conference.

Learn about medical breakthroughs happening in your own back yard from the researchers working to find cutting-edge therapies and cures. Our inaugural event will feature, Kareem Azab PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology / Biomedical Engineering at Washington University’s School of Medicine for his presentation Kill Me, Eat Me, Just Treat Me … the Sigh of a Cancer Cell. Kareem is also the Founder of Cellatrix and Targeted Therapeutics.
