NCEA and CSO Reports
NCEA and School Reports will be available in Sycamore tomorrow September 16th. Please make sure to complete these reports right away. They are due Monday September 26th!
Iowa Flex Benchmarking - First Session
The testing window is open through September 23, 2022. Please make sure you get your 3rd-8th graders through the 1st session of benchmarking! Reminder – the tests have been created for you by the school office, you just have to assign the correct tests to the class/grade levels for them to take them!
New Principal’s Meeting
New Principals will meet September 20th from 9:00 -11:00 am in the Catholic Schools Office.

Iowa Flex Data Training
The Iowa Flex data Training is being held on September 27th. The first session is from 8:30 - 11:30 am. The second session is from 12:30 - 3:30 pm. We will meet in the Baum Room at the Chancery. Bring a device and/or copies of your Iowa Flex scores from this first benchmark session.  
ACRE Assessment
All 5th, 8th and 11th graders will take the ACRE assessment this year. The testing window is November 7- November 22. Please make sure you have ordered testing materials or arranged to take the assessment online. With online testing – you get the results immediately.  
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15- October 15. Does your school/parish do anything to celebrate? This is a great way to celebrate the diversity you have in your school/parish. If your school/parish does celebrate, don’t forget to send Sherri Hennen (hennen@diocesekcsj.org) photos so she can share them on social media!  
Circle of Grace
Just a friendly reminder to make sure you have a plan for teaching these lessons to your students. You may need to remind your DRE for the parish about this as well – as you have to report that all students in Religious Education and the schools have been taught a lesson.
ELL support
Several schools have had an increase with their ELL population this year – here is a great resource for all of you - dese.mo.gov/college-career-readiness/curriculum/english-language-development  - This link will take you to a DESE page on Curriculum for ELL. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the green box that says Instruction – and there are lots of links for different instructional support.
Faculty Faith Formation
Don’t forget to have your teachers take a course through Franciscan at Home this semester! I am currently taking the first course The Mission of Catholic Schools and the Role of Teachers and know that you and your staff will have some wonderful conversations as you move through this course! The videos are anywhere from 5-9 minutes long and then they provide you a “task” to discuss with each video. One way to accomplish this is to ask teachers to view the video before your weekly faculty meeting, then at your meeting – spend 10-15 minutes discussing the “task”!  The expectation is that each school/faculty is spending around 2 hours a month in their own faith formation! This course has 8 sessions with a final question. Basically you can do 2 videos a month for Sept – Dec and complete the course this semester!  If your staff does the tasks all together or verbally at a meeting, after you have completed it all you can go into the program and mark that all the teachers have completed this course! I can show you how to do that!  
Priesthood Sunday
Priesthood Sunday is celebrated on the 4th Sunday of September.
The attached resources can be tailored to fit your school in recognition of Priesthood Sunday for Vocations. These resources are provided by the Serra Clubs of Kansas City and St. Joseph. Please use these resources to help promote vocations to the Priesthood.
