Through this monthly newsletter we will bring you updates and exciting news from around the Estherville Lincoln Central School District.
The 2019-2020 school year is off to a great start! Students have filled the halls for almost a month now, classroom routines and procedures are becoming the engrained and will make for a great school year! We are honored that you share your child(ren) with us.
ELC in the News:
ELC receives Computer Science Professional Development Initiative Funds to advance computer science knowledge and offerings at ELC.

Teachers who will be involved in getting their computer science endorsement this year include:
  • Elizabeth Enderson
  • Brandi Fredericksen
  • Michelle Frideres
  • Jenny Nitchals

Additional staff will also have the opportunity to attend one of 3 conferences in our area to gain additional knowledge in Computer Science and how to implement into the classroom.

Each Teaching Staff member will also, through the initiative funds engage in professional development first semester of the school year to gain a better understanding of how computer science "thinking" can be used in all academic areas.

ELC, Avera Holy Family, and Emmet County Public Health Recieve HRSA Grant

The HRSA grant was written to gather data and create a plan on how to eliminate suicide within Emmet County. The data is staggering and the entities involved in the grant and many more have decided it is time to take an active role in identifying the root causes and what supports can be utilized to help those idealizing suicidal thoughts. The first listening session of the group was September 16 with follow up session to come. Read more about the grant and partners in the Estherville News article HERE
E L C Homecoming 2019...
This year's Homecoming week, September 30 - October 4, theme is One Community! As details begin to come out about the 2019 Homecoming schedule you will notice there are some changes to the "traditional" schedule of events. The most noticeable change is coronation will be held on Wednesday evening instead of the traditional Friday afternoon. The Homecoming parade will also be on Wednesday evening in an effort to allow more of the community to be involved in the festivities! You can access the schedule of events HERE
