President's Corner

Welcome to the 25-26 School Year!

We are so happy that your family has joined our #MGNSfamily for a year of adventure, learning and most importantly PLAY! 


We are eager to showcase the space that we have all worked so hard to complete in time to welcome our littlest learners and our parent helpers. Together with our amazing staff we look forward to a great year! For 67 years our school model has and continues to be a partnership for the benefit of the whole child. 


Each month we will be sending this newsletter with important school wide updates and reminders. Please set aside some time each month to read it over thoroughly. As always, our dedicated Board of Directors will be available to answer any questions and welcome any suggestions you may have. Feel free to reach out anytime!

Community Events & Announcements

We Came to Play! at the Musky

Sunday, October 5th at 2:00 PM!


We are gearing up for some BIG fun....for the grown ups!!! To help fund our recent renovations, we are hosting a FUN-draiser event doing what we’ve always loved and done best: PLAY! Join us for this event featuring raffles, a shuffleboard tournament, giveaways, and more. All to benefit the biggest moment in MGNS’s 68-year history: our move to our new location at 4019 Hegg Ave! This is an all-alumni-and-friends-need-to-join-the-party event so spread the word, all are welcome! Big thanks to our host, the MUSKY, where we know the good times always roll. Welcome Back, MGNS Families! We’re thrilled to kick off another fantastic school year—and what better way to start than by fundraising together for our amazing community!


  • Butter Braid Sale: Sept 9-26 Our beloved Butter Braid fundraiser is back! These delicious pastries are a fan favorite and always a hit with friends, family, and neighbors. Keep an eye on those brown bags—order forms will be coming home soon. Stock up and spread the word!
  • Dine Out for MGNS has two tasty events lined up this month:
  • Ian’s Pizza – Wednesday, Sept 10 5-9 PM  Grab a slice and support MGNS! Just present the flyer when ordering and a portion of the sales will go directly to our school.
  • Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream – Tuesday, Sept 16, 4-9 PM Treat yourself to some sweet scoops at the Gemini Drive location; 20% of sales will be donated to MGNS!


This year we will be using Raise Right to earn funds for MGNS! It's simple to use and all you have to do is buy gift cards to places you already shop! To enroll in our program, follow the steps below.

MGNS Friends- 


We are excited to announce our annual Meet Greet and Eat that will follow our Roll and Stroll Fundraiser on Friday, October 10. 

  • Stroll and Roll will start at 4:30 PM
  • Meet Greet and Eat will follow from 5 to 7 PM


The Roll and Stroll is a family friendly fun 1 mile walk, run, bike, stroller, scooter, etc. to help raise money that will go towards paying off our new school renovation projects. This is open to all current and alumni MGNS families. 


Meet Greet and Eat is an annual event that we at MGNS love! This is when all of our families, and their extended families, join us to have a pizza dinner, and play in our NEW classrooms, and on the NEW playground! Our staff and teachers will all be there! 


Same Heart, New Start!

This summer SO MANY volunteers have worked incredibly hard to help MGNS make the transition to our new space. The excitement and optimism for the future is there in full force! BUT we still have a ways to go to cross the finish line for our campaign goal. Your gift TODAY will be so meaningful for our future.


If you have been meaning to give to the "Same Heart, New Start" campaign but just haven't had the chance, add "DONATE" to your back-to-school to-do list. Your financial support is very appreciated at this pivotal time.

Announcements from our Staff


  • Thank you to all of our 2025-2026 families who got themselves enrolled in ELV and are getting their documents in! It helps us have an easier start to our year!


  • A reminder! Our new cubby room is lovely and also crowded! Please take everything that you bring to school home each day- remember that we are storing your extra clothes! Everyone is sharing a cubby with three other people! So backpacks, bags, etc are not needed! Thank you for our cooperation!


  • Remember to label your kiddo's clothes for school! If you would like, we have a fundraiser with Oliver's Labels – a super durable label company!


  • Remember to dress for the weather--we go outside!!!

A Note from Our Friends

The Monona Public Library has some great events coming up for kids and we encourage you to investigate! AND Angelika and the Famous Book Bike will be a part of our Meet Greet and Eat for your kids to sign up for a library card and check out books!
