Finishing Summer with a Bang

What a month it’s been at Neoteric Run Club! From logging miles with new and familiar faces to celebrating some awesome highlights, this summer has truly delivered. We laced up with Brooks and Fleet Feet Huntersville for a shoe demo, welcomed our friends from the Carolina Comeback 5K to share their inspiring mission, and, just yesterday, we cheered on members who crushed the Around the Crown 10K & wrapped things up with a fun afternoon at Neoteric’s “Smoke Your Butt Off” competition!

As summer winds down, we’re already looking forward to what’s ahead — more shoe demos, more socials, and our very first $5 5K this upcoming month.

Keep reading to see what’s coming next, and don’t forget: the more the merrier! Bring your friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues to join us every Tuesday at 6:15pm!

Introducing the $5 5K Run/Walk Series!

September's Mission: Brooke's House

Mark your calendars! On Tuesday, September 16, we’ll be hosting our very first $5 5K!

What is a $5 5k? This is our newest initiative that will begin with one run club a month featuring a mission or charity of our run club's choice. Don't want to run/walk a 5k? No worries! You can still do any distance that evening, and the donation is just a recommendation, not requirement!

This month, we’ll encourage everyone to participate in a 5K run, with all proceeds going directly to Brooke’s House — a nonprofit dedicated to helping women suffering from alcohol abuse, opioid misuse, and substance abuse. This cause is especially close to our community, as our very own member Paul is running the Chicago Marathon in October in honor of his sister, with Brooke’s House at the heart of his mission.

If you can’t make it but would still like to contribute, please don’t hesitate to reach out — every bit of support helps. This is an incredible opportunity to challenge yourself, give back, and cheer on Paul as he hits the final stretch of his marathon training!

Runner's Toolkit: Setting (& Reaching) Your Running Goals

Failing to reach a goal is a defeating feeling, and when it comes to your running goals, that's no different. When setting running goals, make sure they actually fit your life. Instead of squeezing training into an already packed schedule, carve out realistic time for it.

As you think about your upcoming or current running goals, don't forget to start small, build gradually, and as always, celebrate the little wins along the way!

& what better way to put this to practice than when thinking about your 5k goals for our $5 5k!

After the Miles: Social Recap

We had such a blast yesterday cheering on Smiley and taste-testing all the amazing BBQ, chicken, and brisket at the “Smoke Your Butt Off” competition! Huge congrats to Smiley for snagging 3rd place in the "Pork Category"—we may just need to plan a Run Club potluck so we can all enjoy his award-winning skills again!

Looking ahead, our September social will be on Wednesday, September 24, when we gather for Trivia Night at Neoteric!

Trivia starts at 7:00, but we will grab a table starting at 6:30pm for anyone who's able to make it out!

Come ready for food trucks, good laughs, and a chance to prove that we’re not just the fit brewery crew — we’ve got the brains to back it up too. Don’t miss it!

Have something you want highlighted at a future run club, ideas on how we can keep growing, or questions about anything?

Feel free to reach out to neotericrunclub@gmail.com & we will get back to you!
