- The North State BIA President and CEO,
Michael Strech, anticipates a steady growth for home sales this year. "The second and third quarter saw a definite up swing in sales. While our numbers are encouraging, the best in several years, it is critical to keep in mind that we are significantly behind in producing the amount of housing needed for a balanced market."
Strech continued, "Sacramento is in a healthy market, that is evident by the steady, continued growth this year, but we need to keep local and state officials to continue focusing on housing as a priority. Creating a positive environment for homeownership is imperative."
A total of 363 new homes were sold during the month of September. The sales were reported in 162 subdivisions in the six-county Greater Sacramento region from Marysville and Yuba City in the north to Galt in the south. In addition, 11,740 people visited active new-home communities last month.
