McKibbon buys Avion Park Hotel

McKibbon Equities acquired the 149-key SpringHill Suites Tampa Westshore Airport in Florida from an undisclosed seller for an undisclosed amount. This is the company’s fourth and final acquisition for McKibbon Income Fund I. The $42 million fund was fully deployed in less than two years from its initial close. McKibbon Hospitality will operate the property, which is the company’s 14th managed hotel in the Tampa area. MORE

World Car Free Day is September 20

Don’t miss World Car Free Day 2025! The 3rd annual city-wide event will be held on the third Saturday of September with activities throughout Tampa. Join the Westshore Alliance at Midtown for live music, the Sunshine Market, interactive chalk murals, and a bunch of fun! The TB Rays and Lightning Street Teams will be visiting to hand out swag. There will be a variety of guided group bike rides across the city. Keep up with all that is planned for WCFD2025 by following Walk Bike Tampa on social media.

The 2nd Annual Westshore Alliance Photo Contest for World Photography Day received more than 60 submissions! The Public Art Committee helped select 3 winners and 25 finalists to be showcased at pop-up galleries throughout the months of September and October. Check out the first pop-up gallery at Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel, where it will remain for the month of September and then transition to International Plaza and Bay Street for October. The artwork is also displayed on the digital boards at Midtown Tampa thanks to the generous support of Liquid Outdoor.

New Bike Racks near Raymond James Stadium

Two new bike racks were installed at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers themed HART Bus Stop this past month – located on Himes Avenue, just north of Ohio Avenue. As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers season kicks off, be sure to join in on the football festivities through alternative modes of transportation.
