What a day! Our 40th annual Harvest Festival brought the community together around food, harvest, farm animals, traditional crafts, stories, and music. We've captured the day in photos here . We're especially grateful to our volunteers and everyone who participates to make the Harvest Festival possible every year. Photo by Courtney Ley.
Welcome, Robin!
After more than 25 years at Vermont Public Radio, nine as its CEO, Robin Turnau joined Shelburne Farms as Chief Advancement Officer. We sat down with her to chat about her career at VPR and her new role at the Farm.
A Limited Batch of Four-Year Cheddar
We have a batch of 4-year cheddar to share! This doesn’t happen every day–it takes a special cheddar. Tasting notes during the grading process included: Pineapple-y, fermented blueberries, creamy, and IPA aroma.
Balancing Priorities in School Kitchens
School nutrition teams have a complex, highly regulated task to execute every day: serve a school full of children nourishing food they’ll actually eat. We're supporting them through Farm to School integration and recipe inspiration.
A Dry Summer
at the Dairy
This summer was hot in the Champlain Valley. And dry. No one knows this better than our Farm Manager Sam Dixon and our Brown Swiss cows.
