Join us for an evening with internationally acclaimed artist and Darien resident Jan Dilenschneider on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 5:30pm on Waveny’s Main Street.


Mrs. Dilenschneider has devoted many years to her craft, showcasing her vibrant works in numerous solo exhibitions across Paris and various locations throughout the U.S. This special event offers a extremely rare opportunity to hear Mrs. Dilenschneider discuss her artistic inspiration and the unique approaches that shape her paintings. We are incredibly fortunate to have her join us for this engaging conversation.

Caffeine & Carburetors Brings Back the Memories for Waveny's Residents


Doug Zumbach, founder of the wildly popular Caffeine & Carburetors vintage automobile event series, recently experienced care for eight weeks at Waveny LifeCare Network’s Care Center short-term rehabilitation unit and while there, he wondered how he could rally his Caffeine & Carburetors volunteers to do something special for Waveny’s residents: combine getting outdoors with his passion for old cars in a way that might illicit fond memories of yesteryear. Zumbach’s vision became Caffeine & Carburetors (Lite): On the Road, Bringing Back the Memories, an event that took place on Waveny’s Farm Road campus last Sunday morning. The New Canaan Thrift Shop, a member of the Waveny LifeCare Network, has supported our Patient Care Fund since 1930. The 2 Locust Avenue location has been home to the Shop since the 1950's but has a rich 180 year history, click HERE to read more.


In addition to raising funds to support our valuable mission, The Thrift Shop continues to evolve, serving the community by selling low cost, quality goods and having a positive impact on the environment by encouraging sustainability. The shop is open for donations Monday through Friday from 9am-noon and for shopping from Monday through Friday from 11am-4pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.
