Arts Impact on Display

Did you know? Every so often, an Arts Impact project becomes a permanent installation! These displays are an amazing way to showcase students' work and beautify our partner schools. Here are some installations within CMSD:

School: Harvey Rice Wraparound School

Students: 6-8th grade Art Club

Project: Window art inspired by Van Gogh

School: Wilbur Wright PK-8

Students: 4th graders

Project: 3D geometric paper installation

School: Riverside

Students: 6-8th grade Art Club

Projects: Silhouette mural and plexiglass airplanes

Impact Week

Our program team kicks off each new school year with "Impact Week" to build our knowledge and skills! This year featured both outside consulting and staff-led workshops with topics such as:

  • Classroom Management
  • Building a Creative Culture
  • Authentic Assessments
  • Teaching Art to Students with Disabilities
  • Using AI in Art Education (led by Stephen)
  • BIPOC Artists and Artists with Disabilities (led by Kelly)
  • Woodshop Tools and Safety (led by Lynda, PICTURED)
  • Incorporating Dance & Movement into Lessons (led by Leah)

We're ready for an exciting new year!
