Dear Friends and Supporters,
It was wonderful to see so many of you in Ocean City, Maryland at the recent MWCEA Conference. I was honored to present the KCMD update on Monday morning, share our new KCMD video, and recognize Nancy Kellar with our Lifetime Achievement Award. Her decades of commitment to the children of injured Maryland workers is truly inspiring.
We also had a fantastic “Tern Out” for our $100 fundraiser—thank you to everyone who participated. A special shout-out to Michelle Mtimet’s enthusiastic dedication to the resounding success of this event.
Congratulations to the winners of the third annual KCMD Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser, Katie Lloyd and Matt Tidball of Godwin Tirocchi. A special thank-you to the tournament chair, Kristin Waters for an afternoon of high energy competition and fellowship.
While the weather forced relocation of our 12th annual Fun/Run Walk celebration to the enclosed sun deck, the spirit of our dedicated supporters was on full display. Special thanks to MWCEA for sponsoring the refreshments and heartfelt appreciation to everyone for helping us carry on this annual tradition.
One of the most meaningful moments at this year’s MWCEA Conference was the presentation of the 2025 Alfred M. Porth Award to Jeffrey Weinberg, Esq. A longtime KCMD Board member and steadfast supporter, Jeff’s principled leadership, tireless advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the Maryland’s workers’ compensation community have made a lasting impact—not only on our organization, but on the lives of countless families across the state. KCMD celebrates this well-deserved honor with our friend and colleague.
As always, thank you for being part of the KCMD community. We are proud of what we have accomplished together in service to the children of injured Maryland workers.
I look forward to the work ahead—and to seeing you again soon. In the meantime, enjoy the KCMD highlights below.
With sincere appreciation,
Edgar G. Dodd, III
President, Kids' Chance of Maryland
