Since 1975, Lisa has been part of the Parc family, first as a participant in our Adult Day Training (ADT) program, and now as a beloved resident of Burkett Villa, where she’s lived for the past five years.

Lisa’s sister, Stacey Murray, recently shared how deeply grateful she is for the compassionate, consistent care Lisa receives at Parc. After moving to Florida in 2021 to care for their aging parents and be closer to Lisa, Stacey faced tremendous personal challenges. Despite the stress with the transition, she told us:

Thanks to the dedication of our incredible Burkett staff, especially Olumide and Carol, and support from friends like you, Lisa is thriving. READ MORE HERE

Parc NextGen’s 2nd Annual “Strike for Parc” Bowling Party

Hits It Out of the Alley!

What do you get when you combine community, inclusion, and a little friendly competition? The 2nd Annual Parc NextGen “Strike for Parc” Bowling Party, bigger, better, and more impactful than ever.

This year, we filled 33 lanes across two lively sessions, nearly doubling last year’s turnout. Over 150 people came together, including 60+ Parc participants, 27 dedicated caregivers, and a wave of enthusiastic supporters!

  • Session One brought together more than 20 Parc community participants and their families, bowling shoulder-to-shoulder with sponsors and advocates.
  • Session Two featured 38 Parc residents alongside their Parc Direct Support caregivers, bowling alongside our sponsors, building friendships, and unforgettable memories frame by frame.

Guests enjoyed plenty of pizza, cookies, brownies, and sweet treats from Emily Grace’s Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Love dessert bus.

Thank you to our incredible sponsors and the NextGen Leadership Committee: Alexis Guilbeau, Alexis Egozcue, Michael Wagner, Alana Horner, Daniel Mastrodonato, Mike Martino, and Emma O’Donnell for making this celebration of community and inclusion possible.

Philanthropy Is About Everyone

When many people hear the word philanthropy, they often think of large financial gifts from donors. But true philanthropy is much broader—it’s about people of all ages, backgrounds, and means coming together to give what they can to strengthen a cause they believe in. At its heart, philanthropy simply means “love of humankind,” and that’s something each of us can practice every day.

At Parc Center for Disabilities, we are working to build a culture of philanthropy where everyone—donors, volunteers, staff, families, and community partners—feels they have a role to play. This culture is about more than dollars. It’s about sharing time, talents, connections, and advocacy alongside financial contributions.

For example, a volunteer may give a few hours each week mentoring children in our programs. Another supporter may be sharing their love of art within our art program. Others may be passionate about spreading the word—encouraging friends to tour Parc’s programs and share the stories on social media. And when staff members speak proudly about the Parc mission to neighbors and family, they, too, are nurturing a spirit of philanthropy. Each of these contributions is essential.

Together, these many forms of giving build something powerful: a sustainable foundation that keeps our mission thriving. Whether you’re making a gift at any level, volunteering, introducing us to a friend, or simply wearing your Parc shirt with pride, you are part of this culture of philanthropy.

We invite you to reflect on what philanthropy means to you. How might you share your love of humankind this season? Every act of generosity—big or small—makes a lasting difference. Together, our philanthropic spirit is about extending ourselves to those supported by Parc.
