On May 5th we celebrated our
35th Annual National Day of Prayer Luncheon
. Janessa Gans Wilder, Founder of the Euphrates Institute, gave an inspiring speech around the topic of
"Building Peace in the Face of Extremism." So many people have remarked about the unique and spiritual quality of the day, and we are thankful to all of this year's participants.
Since the National Day of Prayer, the Thanks-Giving Foundation's Interfaith Council has convened and built a significant group of clerical leaders who are working together to build bridges of understanding between the many varied faith communities that are part of our diverse society. Faith Forward Dallas -- Faith Leaders United for Peace and Justice, an initiative of Thanks-Giving Square received very positive national and international recognition during the Dallas police shooting tragedy in July. Thanks-Giving Square became a spiritual gathering place for thousands of visitors during the days and weeks that followed.
After a summer of heat, rain, and social challenges that have impacted so many of us, we look ahead to
several important events as the seasons change. We invite you to join us.
