September is already here and normally I would be writing this newsletter from a hotel room in Denver, Colorado, shopping away for new inventory to bring back for you to see at our 15th Annual Fall Denver Trunk Sale in October and to restock our store for our 4th quarter holiday shopping extravaganzas we have every year. Like many aspects in our lives Covid19 virus has changed this picture for us. But you know, change is good and like so many other things we are finding that this change may actually make things better for both you and us.
We have been forced to rethink how we buy inventory as I do not think it is safe enough for us to tackle a trip to Denver and two weeks of possible mass exposure. The Denver International Gem and Jewelry Show has also changed as the majority of vendors are not traveling just yet, so they are making video options available for us to shop their warehouses to select our goodies instead. Those that do not have video options are sending pick boxes for us to examine and select items that are of interest. It's actually very exciting in that 1-Amanda, Michael and I don't have to stand and walk on dirt and asphalt for 8 hours a day for two weeks and 2-wow these people really have huge warehouses stuffed full of items they don't bring to the Gem Shows. OMG! So, needless to say we are shopping daily still and spending what money we can to restock our inventory, although we are sitting down while we do it!
As you know, we were also forced to rethink how we can present our new merchandise you would normally enjoy previewing at our Annual Trunk Sales. Because of the forced limitations of occupancy while practicing physical distancing, we are getting creative about ways we can exhibit so much product in a shopping environment that limits attendance. Previously, we've always tried to showcase our new purchases in a fairly detailed newsletter prior to our annual Trunk Sales. In addition to extending our normal 4 day Fall Denver Trunk Sale this year, we will also be creating new ways we can showcase and allow purchases of specially priced and one of a kind unique pieces online with a pickup option. So, it'll be especially important to watch for our 15th Annual Denver Trunk Sale detailed newsletter next month so you will be one of the first to grab those unique one of a kind pieces our Trunk Sales have always been known to provide.
Even though our lives have changed so much in the past 6 months, some of Mother Nature's activities will still keep consistent even if the weather doesn't. No matter how we are forced to change, or choose to change, there will always be a Fall Solstice or Autumn Equinox in September and this year it happens on September 22nd at 9:31am EST. On this day there will be equal amounts of day light and night time as the sun falls exactly over the equator. Yay!! Fall is coming...cooler weather is just ahead. Speaking of which, I was always told the fall leaf colors were due to weather conditions changing and getting cooler. Come to find out, leaves change color because of the amount of daylight and photosynthesis, not because of colder weather. So it seems in spite of Covid19, the leaves will still be changing with or without us wearing masks or physical distancing.

September also always brings Labor Day observance and celebrations. This day was created to recognize social and economic achievements of us, the labor force, and a tribute to the contributions we have all made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country. Now, more than ever, we have reason to celebrate the capability of even being able to have a labor force and/or jobs to sustain our lives. This year brings a whole new appreciation to Labor Day so lets celebrate safely and be extra thankful.
Please everyone, stay safe and healthy.
Blessings,
Karen and the Staff

Nature's Treasures Celebrating 20 Years in 2020
|
|
|
Karen Richards, the owner of the spiritual rock shop, believes in the healing power of her crystals. “A lot of being close to nature is vibration,” says Karen Richards as she slowly taps a tongue drum with a wooden mallet. Sound waves reverberate throughout her store, causing vibrations that you can feel in your chest...

Business Spotlight: Nature’s Treasures
|
Nature's Treasures is designed, as described by owner Karen Richards, to be a blending of science and spirituality. It's a business that fosters community — through the retail shop, activities and special events that take place on Nature's Treasure campus, and now, more than ever, through the company's online store and virtual connections.
It's been 20 years since Richards started the business, which has become a community hub, both in its hometown of Austin, Texas, and online. Undoubtedly, Nature's Treasures is the product of years of hard work, planning, saving and investing, and collaboration. Still, it is also the result of dreams...

Nature's Treasures Continues COVID-19 Safety Protocols
|
|
Nature's Treasures of Texas values the health and well-being of our customers and staff. For that reason, we will continue with the following safety precautions through September and adjust as necessary to local and state ordinances as well as CDC recommendations.
Through the month of September, we will continue to operate with adjusted hours and reduced capacity. We are limiting our capacity to 18 customers in the Retail Showroom and 13 customers in the Rock Depot/Yard, so come prepared to wait in line rain or shine. Bring the weather gear you need to be comfortable and safe. Our doors open at 11:00a and close at 4:50p, but no worries! We are open 7 days a week for your convenience!
For entry, customers will be required to: (1) wear their own face/mouth coverings at all times while on the property, (2) sanitize gloves/hands with at least 60% alcohol content upon entry to an area, and (3) exercise social distancing at check-out. Individuals with children will be asked to keep all young ones within arms reach or may be asked to leave. We encourage the differently-abled to come with a friend or loved one to help with store navigation during this time due to limited staffing. Only certified Service Animals trained to aid with a Disability will be allowed to enter the building. We will not be offering certain in-store services such as personal shopping, aura readings or practitioner readings. No food or drink will be allowed into the building. No public bathrooms will be available during this time.
If you feel unwell or show symptoms of COVID-19 (dry cough, shortness of breath, or fever), PLEASE STAY HOME and shop online! If you cannot or do not want to wear a mask or follow our in-store policies, please stay home and shop online. We are continuing to offer Free Next Day No Contact Curbside Pick Up as well as Free Domestic Shipping on Orders over $50 in addition to other exclusive Online Discounts! If you know what you want, take advantage of our Free Personal Shopping Service for online orders by e-mailing us HERE!
Returns/Exchanges will be conducted BY APPOINTMENT ONLY to minimize contact and accommodate customer needs. Please e-mail michaelk@ntrocks.com to schedule your return or exchange.
Thank you for your continued support and patience during this time of uncertainty and transition. Special discounts and free next day, no-contact curbside pick up will remain available for individuals that would rather get their treasures from the safety of home.

Be On the Lookout! We Need Your Help!
|
Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much for all of your support during our reopen and for being a part of our community. We are currently looking to you for help with preventing shoplifting and theft from the store.
We have had a series of Rock Yard Break-Ins all perpetrated by the same individual(s). We have multiple police reports on file. The main individual has been consistently stealing our Selenite Logs, Lithium Quartz Clusters, and Amethyst Clusters among other assorted gems/minerals in the early morning. On their last break-in, he brought a female friend with him. If you recognize them or our products being sold, please contact michaelk@ntrocks.com with any information.
