Oktoberfest September 28

A taste of Germany in your backyard

D on your lederhosen and dirndls for the family-friendly fall fest of the year in Northwood Saturday Sept. 28. Worth Brewing Company and the Northwood Volunteer Fire Company will tap the honey-hued elixir known as Oktoberfest Lagerbier from noon to 11 p.m. They will close down Central Avenue and welcome all ages to its 12th Oktoberfest bash.

Beer and Food

Most of the Oktoberfest beer is consumed in one day so make plans to sample this malty brew before it’s too late. Worth Brewing made this beer in mid summer and aged it for a mellow smooth finish. Also new this year is Andech’s Doppelbock imported from Germany, one of the tastiest beers in the world.

While authentic German-style beer is the headliner, food is another highlight with locally made Fest Dogs and all house-made trimmings: red cabbage and candied almonds.

Games

Enjoy games all day, including hammerschlagen, bags, stein hoisting and Oktoberfest trivia—all free. In case of inclement weather, the fun moves to the Bee Hive Ballroom above the Tap Room.

Entertainment

The fun begins on the Chamber stage at 12:30 with a Just For Kix Dance Performance. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. the Marv Nissel Band will put the oomp in your pahh with classic polkas and fest tunes. Eighties hair band Slap ‘n Tickle will rock the stage beginning at 7. Look for updates throughout the month but mark your calendar today!

Herbstfreude Oktoberfest tapped Tuesday Sept. 17

Herbstfreude, autumn friend, is our 2019 Oktoberfest lager and September specialty. This malt-forward brew is made specially for our celebration the last Saturday of the month. This year's tapping is Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. We also have six-pack bottles available in the Tap Room and from Shade Tree Liquor in Northwood.

Brunhilde Vintages released in Tap Room on Wed. Sept. 4

S ix packs and 22-ounce bombers of three Brunhilde vintages go on sale in the Tap Room at 5 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 4. This strong dark Belgian is available in 2016, 2018 and 2019 vintages. A small quantity of mixed six-pack with two bottles each of all vintages will be sold while supplies last.

Classic car collectors and those who appreciate good automotive style take over Central Avenue from morning to late afternoon. Street vendors sell Norwegian goodies and crafts of all sorts. Worth Brewing will be discounting the Maibock to make room for the Oktoberfest.

Beer Yoga in the Ballroom

5:30 p.m. second and fourth Tuesdays each month. First session is Tuesday September 10th . $15 buys you a Yoga session and pint afterwards. Bring your mat and water bottle. Just show up or buy your ticket at the bar any time.

Beehive Ballroom

N estled above the taproom on the second floor of Worth Brewing is the Beehive Ballroom and speakeasy. This venue has been restored back to its 1896 glory with the original tin ceilings, Douglas Fir floor, stage and fixtures. We worked to keep the ballroom as original as possible and add modern amenities in order to open it for public and private events. When you reserve the Ballroom you will be able to use the entire facility to its fullest potential.

We are now accepting reservations for weddings, showers, birthdays, corporate meetings, reunions or any event where you need a beautiful venue with great beer.

Rates

We like to brew and sell great beer, not party space. That's why our pricing is unique. When you reserve the Ballroom for $500 you get $500 back in beer! That's right, as long as you finish your tab it is a free room. You will get your own bartender and access to all of our resources so you can focus on the event, not the planning.
