SEPTEMBER NEWS
Welcome to all of our new and returning families!  For those families who have been with us in the past, you'll notice many changes and new procedures; however, we’re confident that all of the children in our care will enjoy the time they spend with us.

In preparation for the first day of school, please take a moment to carefully review the information below and let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

SAFETY GUIDELINES:
---> Parents are not allowed inside the school buildings. Please call the program cell phone, come to the CYC entrance, and staff will greet you outside for drop-off and pick-up procedures. Families are asked to maintain a 6 foot distance between each other if they are waiting outside to drop-off or pick-up.
---> Each parent must complete a one-time health screen attestation for their child(ren). Staff will have these for you to sign next week.
---> All staff and children will have their temperatures taken and recorded prior to entering the program. Any temperature of 100 or above will result in no admittance to the program or the need for immediate pick-up. Return to the program will require individuals to be fever-free without medication for at least 72 hours.
---> Staff and parents must respond to health questions daily.
---> Staff will wear masks at all times. Children will also be required to wear masks and will be provided with regular mask breaks.
---> Toys and tables will be cleaned and disinfected daily.
---> Children and staff will increase hand washing regimens and hand sanitizer will be available when hand washing is not possible.
---> Participants will interact in groups of 10-15 with 1-2 staff members for supervision. Groups will participate in stations within their program area and will rotate to gym or outside. Every effort will be made to have only one group moving through a hallway at a time.
---> For sanitation and safety purposes only toys provided by CYC will be allowed at program this school year.

HOURS OF OPERATION: Before-school drop off begins at 7:00 am and after-school pickup is no later than 6:00 pm

FOOD/SNACKS:
·        An afternoon snack will be provided by CYC. CYC promotes a NUT FREE environment. This means that any food provided by CYC will be nut/tree nut free.
·        Children are allowed to bring snacks from home which may or may not be nut free. In the event that a child enrolls with a “Life Threatening” allergy, this policy is subject to change.

ABSENCES: If your child will be absent from the after-school program, please contact the administrative office at 518-438-9596 or info@colonieyouthcenter.org. Absences do not need to be reported for the before-school program.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and compliance as we become accustomed to our new procedures to keep everyone safe during these unprecedented times. We look forward to another amazing school year!
