Hello everyone! We hope this finds you and your family safe and well. There is a big storm coming our way up the East Coast, but it seems to be steadily declining in strength. Hopefully that will continue.
Shipyard Strikes in Poland
August is also an important month in the history of Poland. On August 14, 1980, workers in Gdansk, Poland, took control of the Lenin Shipyard. They demanded better pay and the right to form a union free from government control. The massive strike
also saw the rise to prominence of labor leader Lech Walesa, who would be a key figure in bringing an end to communist rule in Poland.
Over the years, Labor Day has evolved into a sort of celebration: family, friends and the end of summer. Piast is here to help with our unique assortment of homemade smoked meats and artisan cooking! See our summer Grilling Menu
for everything you need for a truly delicious weekend
