IMPORTANT UPDATE: WOMEN MOVING FORWARD®
Since I will be leading 2 Women Leadership Retreats in 2019 I have had to make some changes to my schedule for 2019.
The Women Moving Forwards® scheduled for Cincinnati and New Jersey are the last community based workshops I will be leading outside of California. I will still be available to lead WMF® inside
your company.
So if you have family, friends and associates you want to refer to Cincinnati Oct. 10-12, 2018 or New Jersey Dec. 5-7, 2018 please let them know these will be the last ones held in those locations.
In addition, in 2019, I will only lead 2 community based Women Moving Forwards®in California: March 13-15, 2019 & September 18-20, 2019. The cost for those will be $4750 pp. To register at the 2018 price, $3750 per person you must register by December 1, 2018.

Two Funerals, and now what?
We lost two great Americans within a few days of each other. Their differences were obvious. One a woman one a man. One African-American one white. One Democrat one Republican.
But their similarities were far more important than their differences.
Both of the highest integrity. You never needed a pundit to unwrap what either meant by their words.
Both were true to the heritage their families of origin John McCain the military and Aretha, Christian ministry.
Both were able to relate to people who did not see the world the way they did. McCain had legendary relationship with Joe Liberman, Jewish and a Democrat (later an Independent). John Kerry anti-war Vietnam War veteran with POW John McCain joined forces to normalize relations with Vietnam over a 10 year span.
Aretha performed at President Obama’s inauguration but also received the Medal of Freedom from George W Bush.
Both supported those coming after them. Aretha Franklin mentored countless young entertainers who are now stars. She gave generously of her time and wisdom to the generations coming next. McCain was known for pulling Junior Senators aside to fill them in on the ways of the Senate regardless of party.
Both were active and fighting for what they believed in till the very end! (I loved the fact that Senator McCain designed the seating chart so Republicans and Democrats had to sit together at his funeral!)
You could never accuse either of living apathetically. The greatest threat to American Democracy is not external threats from foreign powers but apathy of the citizenry.
To honor Senator McCain and
my
family roots I will be going to local High Schools for register 18 year olds to vote. NOT vote Democratic just participate in the process. Be in the game.
Separately I will be making phone calls for candidates I am backing at all levels. I will not let the rancor of the current discourse seduce me into apathy.
Honoring someone’s life is best served by the actions we take today and into the future. What will you do to honor the memory of these two great Americans?
