Coach's Corner:
If and When Your Child Should Move Up to ACE Level

The question The First Tee coaches are most often asked by parents of participants is, "When can my child move up to the next level?" So far in this series of articles addressing the topic, we've looked at the requirements for passing the PLAYer, Par, Birdie and Eagle levels. In this article, we'd like to give parents a sense of our philosophy about progression to the ACE level of The First Tee. In addition, we'd also like to share with you a sense of what makes achievement in golf so different from other endeavors, and some ideas about how you as parents can help your participants to progress through The First Tee levels with their peers.

A special c ongratulations to Brian Inglis, Isabel Trojillo, Takumi Fukuzawa, and Felix Xu (pictured at right with Coach Jim Cavanaugh) for showing exceptional skill and bringing the Metro Tour trophy back to Columbia for the third year in a row!

Reminder: A/B Honor Roll Submissions due Sept. 15

Each year, The First Tee chapters nationwide identify participants who have achieved academic excellence by earning all A's and/or B's (or the equivalent) on their mid-year or final report cards as part of the A/B Honor Roll program.

If your child meets this criteria, please help us recognize their achievements and be sure to email or bring a copy of his/her second and fourth quarter report cards to our office by September 15, 2017 in an envelope marked "A/B Honor Roll for Jim Cavanaugh."
