Employee Achievements

Employee Highlight

At Coon Memorial Nursing Home, there is an individual who radiates compassion, dedication, and warmth. Meet Suzanne Ballejo, an exceptional Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has been an integral part of our family for the past 26 years. With unwavering commitment, Suzanne has been a source of comfort and care on the memory lane unit, where her profound impact is felt by residents and staff alike.

“I have worked for the nursing home for 26 years as a CNA,” Suzanne said. “I can say I do like my job. I help the residents with their daily living needs.”

Every shift, Suzanne walks through our doors with a genuine passion for her work. For her, it’s not just a job – it’s a calling.

“I can say I enjoy coming to see my residents. I enjoy taking care of them, knowing that just the little things I do for them make them happy,” she explained. “When you know your residents trust you, you try to make everything okay for them for the day.”

Our nursing home isn’t just a workplace for Suzanne. It’s her second home. She cherishes the bonds she’s formed over the years with her residents and their families, who have become like an extended family of their own.

“The teammates I work with make it even better to work around,” Suzanne added, highlighting the collaborative spirit that defines our team.

Employee Shoutouts

"Antonia - Just wanted to give you and your team a huge shout out on the outstanding job you did stabilizing that sweet baby girl before we arrived. She was all set up and ready for us and we appreciate it very much! You guys' rock!!"

-Amy Resendiz, RN

"Makelti - I visited with a couple that raved about the care their family member received. They stated that your willingness to sit and listen to their concerns, helped resolve their father's issues. They also appreciated you going out of your way to step out to the waiting room to visit with the rest of the family as well."

-Kristy Baca, RN

"Shout out to Paul for putting in so much effort to learn Spanish. Paul is now assisting with appointment confirmations for Spanish speaking patients. This means so much to me, his team, and our patients!"

-Priscilla Barron

"Shoutout to Berenice in the hospice department for taking a significant amount of call, while her team member was out of office. This type of teamwork is exactly what I hope for in every department. Great job and thank you!"

- Kacey Schniederjan

Health Tips

Kidneys are about the size of our fists and are shaped like a small bean. Kidneys play a

vital role in filtering out water and waste from our blood. If our kidneys become

damaged, whether through injury, kidney stones, or infection, they don’t typically

function the same and can’t filter as they normally would. This can lead to kidney disease.

If you or someone you know has a history of kidney disease, there are foods that you can consume to help manage and prolong kidney health!

IT Tips

Over the last few years, there has been a dramatic increase in technology used in the classroom. While this can provide a plethora of opportunities for educators and students, it also gives cybercriminals the chance to carry out many different types of scams. From shopping for new technology to using it safely, there are many different ways everyone involved can stay cybersecure.

Buy Tech Supplies Safely

  • Scammers can take advantage of supplies, like computer chips that are experiencing shortages, by posting fake in-stock listings.
  • Be sure to shop through credible and well-known websites.
  • Be wary of low prices and too good- to-be-true offers.

Hiring a Tutor?

Tutoring can be very helpful for students starting challenging classes. Use referrals, check reviews, or go through a tutoring company to find a trustworthy tutor.

College Students

The "student-tax" scam involves a phone call to college students pretending to be from their university or government. The cybercriminal asks for money to pay for student taxes and tells the student they will not be able to take classes unless they pay.

Smartphone and Internet Privacy Tips

  • Install online protection software on phones as well as computers.
  • Use a lock screen. Only 56% of parents have a password on their phone. Only 42% put one on their child's phone, as well.
  • Be aware of apps and ads your child might see or have access to.
  • Free downloads of games or educational material from unfamiliar websites opens the risk of downloading a virus.
