Nurse's Notes from Amy

Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease (HFMD)
HFMD is a common childhood virus causing sores in the mouth and a rash on the hands and feet. Symptoms usually include fever, sore throat, irritability, general malaise and loss of appetite. The virus is easily transmitted. It is spread through salvia and mucus; coughing, sneezing, drooling. Since it is a virus, it has to run its course. It typically clears up on it's on within 7-10 days. Tylenol or Motrin can help to relieve the symptoms. HFMD is most contagious during the first week of the illness. HFMD can be contagious for days to weeks after symptoms disappear.

Highlighting the
New Katie's Kids CHEF

Hello, my name is Ellese Jones.
I was raised in Chicago and recently relocated to the area for a new experience.  I am a mother of two beautiful girls Kalyce and Kalyssa.  I hold a strong passion and love for cooking.  I take great pride in creating recipes from scratch and integrated healthy components.  I am so happy to be apart of the Katie's Kids family.

Lending Library

We would like your family to take a minute and notice our new lending library.  The library includes books for both adults and children.  Some books will include a book buddy. If your child picks a book buddy friend, we have fun directions to follow in order for us to enjoy your adventures too.  Please feel free to share your experience with other friends or simply just read the book & snuggle with the book buddy.

If your family has a book and book buddy friend your willing to donate, please follow up with Andrea.
