SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

BOAT SHOWS ARE IN THE NEWS

Intrepid has enjoyed being in the spotlight as the boat show season continues. It’s a real privilege for our team to spend time with those who are so passionate about our boats and life on the water.

Speaking of events, my team and I will be attending the upcoming IBEX show in Tampa to scout the latest in new materials and technologies being introduced by leading vendors and suppliers to the boating industry. This research is an important part of our drive to propel innovations forward.

By the way, you’ll want to watch the video to learn about Intrepid’s just-announced model – the 60 Evolution, an all-new powerboat being designed with quint 600s.

Enjoy the newsletter, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the boat shows in the coming months!

MARKET REPORT

COOL WEATHER AND

WARM RECEPTION IN NEWPORT

I’d like to thank everyone who visited us at the

Newport International Boat Show.

Not only did we meet boating enthusiasts from throughout New England, but we also had a large contingent of familiar faces from South Florida. We enjoyed blue skies and temperatures in the mid 70s. We loved answering all your questions about the models we were showcasing and hearing about the many summer adventures on the water.

Hats off to Lisa Knowles and her team for putting on a great show and always being so wonderful to work with.

DRIVE FOR PERFECTION 2022

We’re excited to announce that we will be hosting the Drive For Perfection event at our Dania Beach sales office on October 14 and 15. As always, we will showcase our impressive boats, a selection of exotic cars, and plenty of libations and good times.

Be sure and mark your calendars. The Drive For Perfection is a great opportunity to get a sneak peek at the entire lineup we will bring to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, including the 41 Valor. It’s also an early opportunity to secure the most desirable build slots before the boat show. We hope to see everyone there!

FEATURED MODEL

345 VALOR

Length 34' 6" | Beam 10' 6"

Max Fuel Capacity 320 Gallons | Water 30 Gallons

The featured model this month is the 345 Valor. It has the same layout, features and luxury of the 409 Valor, but in a smaller size.

The 345 Valor has all the amenities you need to have a great time on the water. The aft seating easily folds up when you want extra room for fishing. Helm seat boasts a slide-out cooler underneath. The large helm has plenty of room for electronics. Those who want a little extra visibility from the cockpit will appreciate the high/low actuating platform. And there’s an abundance of forward seating.

Below, the cabin offers everything you want in an overnight boat: refrigerator, microwave, galley storage, bow section with hull-side windows. The generous seating area with high/low table transitions to a queen-size berth, and there’s a separate head with shower.

THE CAPTAIN'S CORNER

NEW BOATS, OLD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES

Alex Rizo, Barrett Grene, and I kicked off this year’s boat show season earlier this month and attended the Newport International Boat Show. We had a pair of our boats on display and worked there with our Northeast sales partners, Hyannis Marina & Sandy Hook Yacht Sales. The weather in New England was glorious and reminded me of how nice it can be there at this time of the year. It was great to reconnect with old friends and make some new friends while we were there.

We’ve had a changing of the guard in our Customer Care department recently. Bryson Ashmun is now our Customer Care Manager. He comes to us with decades of experience in the boating industry and hit the ground running when he assumed this position in early September.

He can be reached at 727-548-1260, ext. 242 or by email at: customercare@intrepidpowerboats.com Bryson will be with us at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show next month, so I look forward to introducing him to everyone there.

HELPFUL CHECKLIST FOR SAFE BOATING

In the interest of safety, and being legal, it is necessary to carry the gear listed below on your vessel when leaving the dock.

  • Life jackets and/or wearable personal flotation devices (PFDs)
  • Throwable flotation device
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Flare kit
  • Horn / sound producing device

There are many choices in the marketplace for all these items, but one that interested me when it was first introduced in 2016 is the U. S. Coast Guard-approved ThrowRaft. With storage space usually being at a premium, it is a great alternative to a bulky boat cushion or a life ring. With a packed dimension of 11” x 4”, it’s easy to stow and has proven itself since its introduction six years ago. Information on this innovative product can be viewed at the link below.

PREPARING FOR WINTER

In the northern states, now is the time to plan winter storage, or a move to warmer weather, for your Intrepid. We have great connections with storage yards and transport companies so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions on what to do with your boat this winter. If you are in Florida and find yourself in the Tampa Bay area, please give us a call so we can arrange a factory tour and show you what makes Intrepid Powerboats different than other boat building companies.

Happy Boating,
Joe
