at the Marine's Memorial at 609 Sutter to honor Dr. Patrick Arbore, this year's award winner.
Plans are underway, including an inter-generational dance performance, a fun silent auction and raffle, good food and a no host bar. Simply hop
online to purchase a ticket or sponsorship. The deadline to have sponsorships listed in the printed Program extended to
September 9 at Noon. For more info, download the

Funds raised at this event provide "seed money" for us to grow new and innovative programs and to support advocacy efforts like the Dignity Fund.

Dignity Fund is Prop. I on the November Ballot!
The Dignity Fund Coalition has taken several important steps forward, winning
support from the Mayor and 9 of the 11 Supervisors. The list featuring the first 100+ endorsements is here. The Ballot Simplification Committee has
approved the language for the Voter Handbook
and a broad cross-section of paid ballot arguments will also appear in the Voter Handbook in support of Prop I.
The
Dignity Fund ballot measure
provides an Important foundation of sustained
funding for services and support.
But it is much more than that.
It is a campaign that seeks to raise public awareness of the Issues facing seniors and adults with disabilities of all ages and to mobilize a diverse cross-section of the residents to have a larger voice in the programs and policies that Impact their lives.

Town Hall Forum on Senior and Disability Issues
Save the date for the California Alliance for Retired Americans special event in San Francisco - one of fourteen Town Hall meetings in districts across the state.
Thursday, September 8, 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. Unitarian Universalist Church, 1187 Franklin St.
Hear candidates, learn about propositions, share your voice on issues of concern. Registration fee includes snacks, a box lunch and materials. For more information or to register,

Election Clock Is Ticking
Be sure you, your friends, neighbors and co-workers are registered for this most important election.
The
deadline for new or updated voter registration is October 24th
. You can get forms to register at City Hall or in public buildings and social service agencies across the City.

neighbor Lucy, born in Armenia in 1906 and raised in Fresno and San Francisco.

Comcast Internet Essentials Expands To More Low-Income Households
Over the past 10 months, Comcast has been piloting their Internet Essentials for Seniors program in San Francisco and several other cities. Now, they have announced expanding eligibility to include public housing and HUD-assisted residents in Housing Choice Voucher and other Multi-family programs. This expansion will offer access to high speed internet at the same low rate - $9.95 + tax per month, a discounted computer for $150, and free digital literacy classes.

Hip Hop-erations - a film about seniors who compete in a Hip Hop Competition. |
Legacy Film Series
presents independent and entertaining films that portray the variety of later life experiences. Launched 6 years ago, it has built an enthusiastic fan base for the way it educates, entertains and inspires intergenerational audiences about the issues and challenges of aging.
The series is hosted at New People Cinema,
1746 Post Street (between Webster and Buchanan) on
September 16th thru 18th.
