ANNUAL MEETING

Wednesday, October 25 | 2:00-3:30 pm | Dining Hall

  1. Board nominees will be announced by September 25th.
  2. There will be several board vacancies and open positions. Members interested in filling vacancies need to declare their candidacy by Friday, September 22nd in writing to the Board Chair, Barbara Peete.
  3. The September 20th Membership Meeting, 1:15 pm – 2:30 pm, in the dining hall will focus on the Role of the Board and their responsibilities. The Bylaws of the organization will be available, and a Q and A facilitated.

Capital Projects Update

Upgrades to the CASC facility are underway and will be launched in early September. A contract was signed with MacDonald Miller to complete the design for the HVAC system in the dining hall and later in the older portion of the building east of the reception area and the lower level. We are awaiting the permitting process to be completed by the City of Seattle. Work on the new HVAC system will require approximately two weeks. Heavy equipment will be brought in and stored in the parking lot off of the kitchen.

Usual activities held in the dining hall will be moved to the Solarium. Normal activities held in the Solarium will be moved to the Technology Room and back hallways. There will be no parking in the lot outside of the kitchen during the construction period. Once work is completed, Sphere Solar Energy will install the solar panels; this will assist us in lowering our overall energy consumption and expenses. The last project we are hoping to tackle on the outside prior to the rain settling in, is the deck replacement outside of the Solarium. Currently we are asking everyone to stay off of the deck. It needs dire repair.
