Back to School Night

All students, faculty, and staff of the Roanoke Higher Education Center (RHEC) are invited to attend a Back-to-School Night in the RHEC Courtyard on Thursday, September 5th, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The RHEC will provide FREE vouchers for a food truck on-site, and there will be games, giveaways, and prizes. Most importantly, booths representing Student Services at the RHEC will be present, including the Library! So come say hi!

Current students, faculty, and staff of RHEC Member Institutions may apply in-person or online for a library card.

National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is September 17th! Drop by the library between 8am - 5pm on Tuesday the 17th to register to vote! We will also be providing handouts and information on absentee voting and early voting.

Deadlines to keep in mind for this November's general election:

• First day of in-person voting at your local registrar's office: Friday, Sept. 20th, 2024
• Deadline to register to vote, or update and existing registration: Tuesday, Oct. 15th, 2024
• Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot: Friday, October 25th, 2024
• Last day of in-person early voting: Saturday, November 2nd, 2024

Newspaper Source provides cover-to-cover full text for hundreds of national (U.S.), international, and regional newspapers. In addition, it offers television and radio news transcripts from major networks. 

How to access: If you're connected to the RHEC network, via wired access or wi-fi, you automatically have access. If you would like to use this database off-campus, you may create an account by clicking the Sign In link at the top while connected to the RHEC network. Sign in with your account to have full access anywhere.
