Three AVID Sessions. One Day. For Free!

Transform your teaching practices as you experience three AVID sessions in just one day. Whether or not you have an AVID program at your campus, this special training is for you! Everyone is welcome: teachers of all content areas, instructional coaches, campus and district leaders. Register now to spend Sept. 12 with AVID Implementation Specialists as they equip all participants with a variety of strategies for immediate classroom use. What happens daily in classrooms makes the biggest impact on college readiness, and this session will provide the foundation to grow all students.

September 12 9 AM to 4 PM. At Region 10 participants will explore and define AVID the College and Career Readiness System and learn how to support its implementation in their district roles. They will engage in focused notetaking to process learning collaborate to identify and evaluate WICOR strategies writing inquiry collaboration organization reading and examine how WICOR supports rigorous learning across content areas. Participants will connect WICOR to college and career readiness by developing a schoolwide action plan to build student skills. The session concludes with practical inquiry strategies KWLA graphic organizer Costa's Levels of Thinking Philosophical Chairs for immediate classroom use. AVID Implementation Specialists will be available to support attendees.

TSIA2 Training at R10 Hosted by College Board

This workshop, hosted by College Board, is for TSIA2 testing personnel from IHEs and K12 districts/high schools as well as IHE personnel and District Assessment Coordinators interested in CLEP testing. The primary focus of the workshop will be TSIA2 account and user management best practices, recent platform enhancements, the Pre-Assessment Activity, and updates to the TSIA2 Learning Resources Library (a free, open-source learning tool that links a student’s diagnostic results to online learning content). Additionally, attendees will learn how the CLEP program is being utilized in Texas, benefits to students, and information on becoming a CLEP test center. After sharing how their district utilized the transformative power of depth of knowledge (DoK) and college-ready data with Region 10 last Spring, Tomball ISD is back this Fall by popular demand! Presenters from Tomball ISD will share how they continue to develop their work with depth of knowledge as they present the pursuit by English and Science teachers for "Literacy DNA."

Practical Tools & Strategies to Elevate Academic Rigor

December 8, 2025

The best way to improve students' college readiness is through classroom instruction, and this session will focus on practical tools and strategies to elevate the depth of knowledge students experience. Pulling from research and resources by Dr. Karin Hess, participants will explore strategies to ask probing questions, build schemas, scaffold learning, design tasks the emphasize transfer, and engage students in metacognition and reflection.

Coming changes to the use of college prep courses for CCMR indicators in A-F accountability have refocused our attention and inquiry on the other paths to both college readiness and to CCMR success. TSIA2 Reimbursement Deadline

The TSIA reimbursement application will close at 5 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Details about TSIA2, ACT, & SAT reimbursements can be located on TEA's website for HB3 College Prep Assessment Reimbursements.

Region 10's gifted & talented services is a separate cooperative focused on the individual academic and emotional needs of identified K-12 GT students.

GT Teacher Network

Being the campus GT teacher can sometimes be a lonely job. Come be a part of our new GT Community and join us in the Region 10 GT Educator Network!!


This is a new cohort with an in-person (at our ESC Conference Center) or virtual option for GT educators to meet 3 times a year for 3 hours (9am-12pm on Fridays) to share activities & strategies and problem-solve & plan together.

New GT Leader Cohort

Are you new to Gifted and Talented leadership? A new campus GT lead, coordinator, or director? Join us to build your expertise with guidance from seasoned professionals who understand the unique challenges of gifted education. Together, we'll collaborate to find practical solutions for your issues and questions while strengthening your confidence as a leader and growing your network with other new GT leaders who are walking the same journey!


We meet three times this school year, from 9:00-1:00 at our ESC Conference Center (lunch included!)

The cost is $125 for all three meetings for GT co-op member districts, and $160 for non-cooperative members.

GT School Board Training ToT

(Training of Trainers)

Section 5.10 of the Texas State Plan for the education of Gifted/Talented Students requires that school boards be trained in GT education: Local district boards of trustees are trained to ensure program accountability based on the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students (19 TAC §89.5).


TEA has provided ESCs with the basics of what a training should cover, and we have put together a 1.5 hour session just for our districts! Any GT co-op member districts can join us for a free ToT to take the materials, training, and knowledge back to their districts and present it to school boards! Join us after the GT Coordinator meeting on September 26, 2025, from 12:30-3:30. This does NOT count as GT update hours.

GT 6-hour updates

Teachers seeking their 6-hour GT updates. . . look no further! Region 10 has four 3-hour, in-person sessions this school year to choose from. Knock the 6 hours out all in one day or mix and match the topics that you find most interesting. This year's 3-hour options include:

  • Elevating Advanced Learners
  • Navigating the Needs of Gifted Learners
  • Expanding Horizons


Plus we have a couple of Saturdays scheduled with TPSP and PBL training this school year!
