The excitement is in the air as a new school year begins! PCCI is here to assist and keep you on track for college.
Sophomores and Juniors: Begin researching colleges and universities and start compiling details on an Excel spreadsheet. Some categories that you should include:
- GPA required for admission
- Application deadlines for Early Action and Regular Decision
- SAT policy
- Student housing availability (Freshmen only housing?)
- Overall cost
Juniors, be sure to sign up for the fall SATs. Register by September 13th for the October SAT and register by October 24 for the November SAT.
Seniors: Note your Early Action application deadlines. Also, if you weren't able to complete your essays over the summer, work on them now. Those EA deadlines are around the corner.
If you have not yet completed your college and university visits, this month is the time to do so! These college visits are essential in helping you make the final decision about which schools you are going to apply to. Try to visit in person, as virtual tours do not compensate for the actual vibe obtained from visiting a busy campus when the students have returned for the fall. Take notes along the way during each visit so you are able to easily compare all the schools that you visit. From who teaches the classes (professor or teacher's assistant?) and various features of the dorms to athletic facilities, the food and much more.

PCCI's goal is to find the best fit at a school that is academically, socially and FINANCIALLY most appropriate, thereby putting your student in the best position to succeed in college and beyond.
Allow PCCI to help set you up for success and find your dream school.
