GCL Redevelopment Survey

Thanks for your feedback!

The Redevelopment Committee heard from over 250 of our residents! Thank you all for taking the time to fill out our survey. The results are being compiled and the committee will review all of the information in the coming week.

There were a lot of great questions regarding the Redevelopment, and the function of the Glenora Community League. In our October Newsletter we will include a section to answer many of these questions.

We Want You!

Please consider this a pre-call out for interested volunteers for the upcoming community league season! We will be holding our AGM in the coming months and we are looking for new faces! There are many positions available, and these can be customised for varying levels of involvement. If you are interested in running a program for our community at our facility please let us know as well.

Community League Day - Discount Memberships!

No Administration Fee for Memberships purchased through www.efcl.org on Community League Day.

To help our Community League sell memberships in a socially distanced manner, and to celebrate Community League Day, on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, all memberships sold through the efcl.org website will have their administration fee refunded, the following week. Neighbours coming to our events, in person or virtually, can purchase through our site, and the card will be e-mailed to you as an image, which you can save to your smart phone, leave in your e-mail inbox or print and save in your wallets.

The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues wishes everyone a safe Community League Day 2020.

GCL Updates

Soccer

We are seeking a new soccer coordinator for the upcoming indoor and outdoor soccer seasons! If you are interested, please email Sue at president@glenoracl.com

Pickleball

Pickleball is alive and well at GCL! Come join us on Thursday’s from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on the outdoor court. If interested, players should email Peter at pickleball@glenoracl.com to register.

Membership

Don't forget to purchase your 2020/21 Glenora Community League Membership! See above for details on getting a bit of a discount!

Building & Grounds

The tennis courts remain closed due to maintenance and repairs, but we the basketball courts and playground are open!

Social & Events

Keep up that social distancing! We have been loving seeing everyone being so respectful of current health recommendations. We will all get through this together.

Preschool

Preschool is starting up soon! Keep an eye out for our little ones on their first day of "school".

Glenora Indoor Playground

The Glenora Indoor Playground will not be running this September due to the repairs to the gymnasium. We hope to be back up and running soon!

Garden Club

Gardening group is busy harvesting their vegetables. Canning and preserving season is upon us and likely we all have more zucchini's than we can bake with right now.

I would also like to draw attention to the garden beds at the community league just to the south of the hall entrance. We have six different families taking care of the beds this season and if anyone is interested in a bed they can email Sheila at gardening@glenoracl.com
