Today, I invite you to join me in a moment of reflection, a pause to take a deep breath. The past few years have been a time of immense disruption, defined by constant change. And, it's also been a time of resilience and growth.
COVID-19 forced us to redefine the way we connect, engage, and create memorable experiences. We've had to adapt and innovate in ways we never imagined.
But here we are, resilient and stronger than ever.
I remember in the beginning of the pandemic, when the annual meeting I was planning was halted, thinking, “Is this the end of in-person events / my career?” Thank goodness, it wasn’t. But, the uncertainty that we all faced was scary! As I reflect on that time, I remember the fear and I also remember the outpouring of support that I saw come from the MPI community. I’m so grateful that I had and still have an incredible network of colleagues, supporters, and friends through MPI.
I encourage you to take a moment to look back at the hurdles you've conquered, the innovations you've embraced, and the knowledge you've gained.
And, as we move forward, don’t forget the need to take care of your well-being. The demands of our industry can be relentless, and it's easy to neglect ourselves. How can you commit to taking care of yourself in the coming weeks? I find that I’m at my best when I do the following to take care of my whole self:
● Emotionally - Spending quality time with my husband and friends.
● Mentally - Putting my phone down and reading a book.
● Spiritually - Walking in nature.
● Physically - Moving my body daily.
For an industry centered on supporting others, it's essential that we take time to recharge.
Together, we'll continue to rise and elevate our industry and chapter to new heights.
