Slow Down, School’s Back: Brampton’s Safety Message to Drivers
With the return of the school year, the City of Brampton is reminding drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to do their part to keep students safe. Back-to-school season means more pedestrian, cyclist and school bus activity on Brampton roads, especially near schools, crosswalks and bus stops.
The City’s efforts are grounded in Vision Zero, a global movement that aims to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. Through a variety of tools, education, enforcement and community engagement, Brampton is making it safer for children to travel to and from school.
Brampton’s New Interactive Traffic Calming Map
The City has launched an interactive online mapping tool showing the locations of traffic calming measures across Brampton, including Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras, speed cushions, Community Safety Zones, reduced neighbourhood speed limits and pedestrian-focused infrastructure such as pedestrian crossovers.
Residents can explore the map and learn more at this website.

"Well, you look at that picture and you might wonder: Who are these people, and why should I care?"
The truth is—because we care about you.
I’m Kavyne, she’s Monique, and together we are Maid In Luxury. We provide indoor–outdoor solutions for commercial and residential properties. Our services range from eco-friendly luxury cleaning to property management, right through to renovation and construction—and virtually anything in between. As we like to say: “If you have a property and a problem, call us first. We’ve got the solution.”
Now, back to the picture. This moment represents far more than an award. It captures the journey of a dream becoming reality—our company being recognized on stage. When we first joined the HomeStars platform, the rep interviewing us paused and said: “So this is a real business, huh?” That comment reflected every late night, every sacrifice, every ounce of determination poured into building Maid In Luxury with excellence. Less than a year later, we were crossing that stage receiving the Best of Newly Listed Award 2024.
But the real story begins earlier. Flashback to the height of COVID-19. The world was at a standstill. Monique had lost her job—no income, no EI—just faith and the question: “What do you have in your hand?” Out of that moment of uncertainty came grit, resilience, and a vision. Maid In Luxury was born not just to clean homes, but to create safe, beautiful, and functional spaces that restore peace of mind. And that’s exactly what we do today.
Our clients come to us for:
-
Peace of mind knowing every detail is handled with precision.
-
Eco-friendly, sustainable care that protects the planet while enhancing their lifestyle.
-
Tech-forward efficiency that delivers reliability and consistency.
-
Social impact programs like Golden Years, Caring Hands, and Lifting Moms—initiatives that reinvest in seniors, families with disabilities, and single mothers.
This is what has led to Monique Sinclair, Founder & CEO, being recognized as an award-winning entrepreneur, hailed among the Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Business 2025. And with my background in faith, finance and leadership, as co-Founder & COO, I ensure Maid In Luxury operates with the precision of a large firm while staying rooted in our values.
So, when you see this picture, it’s not just about an award—it’s about perseverance, resilience, and excellence that shines through. It’s about a company built to serve with sustainability, reliability, and care.
That’s the picture. That’s Maid In Luxury".
