President Biden Moves to Eliminate Individual Health Insurance Options Except for Affordable Care Act plans:

As a reminder from our last newsletter, President Biden has moved to end new enrollments in the 3 year term health insurance plans allowed by President Trump. This affects those with Allstate (National General) and United Health Care. We will be calling you starting early September for renewal options.

Premier Health Insurance Now Offers Early Access to 2024 Plan Options October 1st:

We now have software that will provide updated 2024 plans, premiums and tax credits for the Affordable Care Act plans effective October 1st. While this information is typically not announced until the end of October as Open Enrollment starts November 1st, you will now have early access to your new plans and premiums. Call or reply to this email to receive updated plan information as soon as it is available.

Wellmark Blue Cross Announces Rate Change on Pre-Affordable Care Act Plans:

Wellmark Blue Cross has announced a 2.4% increase for PPO plans and 4.9% increase for HMO Pre-Affordable Care Act plans. These are plans purchased prior to January 1st, 2014. These new rates will be effective January 1st 2023. We will not have client specific premiums until approximately October.

New ACA Health Insurance Carrier In Iowa Already Pulling Out:

They were here and then they weren't. AM Better, which operates in many other states, intended to enter the Iowa Affordable Care Act market for 2024. As of now, they have withdrawn and may return in 2025.
