MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

Suicide Prevention Month

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.

September is Suicide Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness of this urgently important crisis. We use this month to shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.

FUNDRAISER BRUNCH & AWARDS

July 13, 2024

Robert J. Cabral Agricultural Center

We had an amazing time at our annual Fundraiser Brunch & Youth Awards event! The food, live entertainment, awards, and raffle prizes were amazing.

Thank you to the following sponsors: Health Plan of San Joaquin, Women's Auxiliary - A Modesto Community Connection, and Junior League of San Joaquin County.

The teens were recognized for their academic accomplishments and advancement to middle, high and college. Each received a gift card to Walmart (Thanks to the Junior League of San Joaquin County). It was an awesome experience to witness the smiles, crowning beauty and display of academic excellence at the event, which boosted self-esteem which plays a significant role in overall mental wellbeing.

The testimony of one of the awardees was amazing, as she talked about her experience in the program and how it has made her a better person.

We are thankful to our parents, community members, and sponsors that help make our fundraising event a success. Don't miss out next year!

3-DAY WELLNESS CAMP

July 26-28, 2024

Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center

The teens had an awesome experience at this beautiful location. The theme was nature, nurture, thrive! They got to be removed from their normal environment to explore, partake in the beautiful mountains, and experience nature.

They enjoyed a campfire, a growth mindset workshop, a nature hike, journaling, canoeing, and much more...

Many built relationships and made new friends, while also learning, exploring, and thriving in nature which benefits their mental, social, and emotional wellness.

Here's what teens said about the experience.

It was enjoyable; it helped me realize that you have to expand your mind and do things you haven't done before.

Connected with nature by exploring around the camp because we were outside a lot.

It opened many lessons on the earth and how we take things for granted.

It helped connecting with others.

Don't miss the opportunity in 2025! It is an amazing experience.
