Teachers have been diligently conducting beginning-of-the-year assessments with their students. These evaluations give us valuable insights into each child’s unique strengths and developmental needs. With this knowledge, we can tailor our teaching strategies to provide our children with the best possible educational experience.

In addition to these assessments, CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) observations are being conducted at all four of our locations. These observations focus on evaluating key aspects of classroom interactions, including emotional support, classroom organization and instructional quality. By using CLASS, we aim to enhance the learning environment and create an even more enriching experience for every child.

Following the assessments, our teachers will be setting up parent conferences. These meetings will provide an opportunity to share the insights gained, discuss each child’s progress, and collaborate with families on how best to support their learning and development at home and in the classroom.

With the expertise of our highly qualified teachers and our commitment to ongoing improvement through assessments, observations and family collaboration, we are excited to continue fostering each child’s growth and success throughout the school year!

With warm regards,

Jessica

Naples Daily News Feature

We were thrilled to be featured in the Naples Daily News article entitled "Gaining Ground," highlighting the importance of early education and childcare for working families in Naples.

Our Executive Director, Jessica Campbell, provided insight into how childcare centers are highly needed. "We have to turn people away," she said. "The Estates is exploding and there are no childcare (centers) out there," Campbell said, referring to Golden Gate Estates. "I call it childcare deserts."

Fun Time Academy's growth has created space for nearly 400 children, offering a nurturing environment that promotes early literacy, cognitive development and social-emotional growth. We appreciate your continuous support of our mission to provide safe, quality, affordable education and care for children and parents from low-income working families and to prepare the children for kindergarten, ready to read and ready to learn!

$24,000 Grant from Christ Child Society of Naples

Thank you to Christ Child Society of Naples for their generous grant of $24,000 and ongoing support of our mission to provide affordable quality care for low-income working families!

We will utilize these dollars to purchase new curriculum and iPads, as well as to host a night at the movies for children and their families.

Believe N Books

Our friends at Believe N Books generously delivered many books to our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) students to spark their imaginations and foster a love for learning.

We want to thank Natasha Agarwal and her team for their kind donation and meaningful impact on our school.

The children were so excited about the new books and couldn't wait to take them home!

Bright Futures Begin with Healthy Smiles: P

We work with community partners to ensure that all of our students have access to the resources they need to stay healthy and succeed. We are grateful to the University of Florida and the Naples Children & Education Foundation for their generous Dental Outreach Program. This amazing service provides essential dental care to our children, helping them stay healthy and thrive.

The recent visit was not only beneficial but also a fun and educational experience, teaching our little ones the importance of good oral health. Best of all, this program will reach children at all of our locations, ensuring everyone receives the dental care they need!

Our September theme was "All About Me." The children discovered that our bodies have many parts, each with an important job.

They learned to recognize the similarities and differences that make each person unique. We explored how to stay healthy through good self-care, nutrition, a healthy diet and regular exercise. The children understood that movement and exercise are key to keeping their bodies healthy and strong.

Finally, they embarked upon an adventure to discover their five senses and learned which ones they use for different tasks.

Volunteer Tutors Enrich the Classroom Experience

Tutors are asked to meet the children one on one during the school day to support our ELLM (Early Literacy and Learning Model) program for the three- to five-year-olds. The volunteers work with our students to reinforce the literacy concepts learned in the classroom. Each volunteer visits the same child weekly from November through mid-April for 20 to 30 minutes per child. Volunteers often choose to have assignments of two to three children each time they visit. The volunteers read books to the children, and together they engage in related math, literacy, science and/or art activities to further the learning experience.

More Ways to Volunteer at Fun Time Academy

Additionally, we can always use help with constructing or repairing classroom equipment, photographing an event, etc. If you love children as much as we do, let's see if we can put your talents to work. We will work together to find a way to match your skills and interests with our many volunteer needs.

If you would like to volunteer with us, please click the link below or call our volunteer coordinator, Melissa Oien, at 239-228-7363. We look forward to having you join our team in preparing children for kindergarten, ready to read and ready to learn!
