Committee Reports

Finance Committee

Pledged                                 $26,000

Non-Pledged                         $ 5,000

Unrestricted Income          $31,000

Operating Expenses            $31,000

Net Operating                  $0 break even

Year to date unrestricted revenue through the end of July was about $223,000 ($182K pledged and $41K non-pledged) versus unrestricted expenses of $214,000. The building insurance cost has the largest variance versus budget. Thankfully, it is about $21K under budget due to refunds from the prior year policies that were replaced with lower cost options. There is about $34,750 remaining in the building repair fund. $30K of this remaining balance is a grant restricted for the fire suppression system and $3K is restricted to window repairs. MUMC also received $1,260 of building use donations from baseball field users during the month.

Missions Committee

Hello from the Missions Team! Thank you to everyone who volunteers to help with the Candlewood lunches and those that participated in volunteering at Midwest Missions. There were 5100 lunches served this summer at Candlewood, approximately 130 lunches/day, and 500 bags of groceries given away. Those who volunteered at Midwest Missions volunteered with repackaging masks, assembling hygiene kits and infancy kits, and fixed bicycles. We appreciate all those who participate and volunteer in any way. Our next mission will be held at MUMC on Sept 21st at 5:30pm where we will be assembling Rice Meals for Midwest Missions. A sign-up sheet is in the lobby area.

Education Committee

The Education for All Ages (Education/Discipleship) Committee met on August 21, 2025, with five members in attendance. After opening with prayer by Pastor Lori, we discussed upcoming programs for this fall.  Come Play with Me starts September 9. Led by Treva Bradd, this playtime for young children will meet Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30. Pastor Lori will be offering two Adult Studies. Wesley Study: The Wesleyan Way by Scott J. Jones starts September 8th, 2025 and runs through October 27th . The second Adult Study is The Walk: Five Essential Practices of Christianity by Adam Hamilton. It starts September 21, 2025 and runs through October 26, 2025 at 6:00 pm, in conjunction with our SOS program. The Committee is currently working on programs for the Upcoming Something on Sundays (SOS) programs. Running from 9/21/25 to 10/26/2025, we are currently planning programming and recruiting volunteers. Our first SOS will feature rice meals and The Walk.
