Welcome Our Newest Board Member! | | | | Fabián Hidalgo Guerrero, Community Engagement Manager at Espousal Strategies, is an accomplished community engagement professional dedicated to advancing social and racial equity through culturally specific, accessible, and inclusive engagement strategies. With experience leading bilingual statewide and local Latine engagement initiatives throughout Oregon and SW Washington, Fabián uses grassroots organizing and outreach to create more equitable outcomes for historically underrepresented communities. Sherwood’s Pedestrian Bridge Project Connects Safety, Art, and Community
The City of Sherwood partnered with KPFF to design and deliver a new safety-driven pedestrian bridge over busy Highway 99W. JLA Public Involvement led the project’s engagement, working alongside KPFF and other firms to involve the community throughout design and construction.
During design, a large suite of public communications materials raised awareness and gathered public feedback on bridge alignment options and bridge art. Outreach activities included two online open houses, an Arts Advisory Committee, and large-format signage.
Ahead of and during construction, an extensive multi-media campaign informed the traveling public of the highway closure. One social media post, with a catchy JLA-produced detour video, gained the most-ever views on the City’s channels. The commemorative sticker, shown here, became the design for the grand opening's vinyl swag sticker, customized cookie design, and other fun bridge-themed swag items.

Highway 99W Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening Event
Saturday, September 27, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pedestrian Bridge - Sherwood High School Side
18800 SW Haide Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140
Celebrate Sherwood's new pedestrian bridge! The event will begin on the high school entrance side with remarks and ribbon cutting, followed by a ceremonial walk across the bridge!
On the the YMCA side, enjoy light refreshments and snacks, family fun activities, along with the opportunity to tour the bridge with the company who built it.

TIF Community Development Manager

APANO CUF is looking for a dedicated TIF Community Development Manager to lead engagement and support the 82nd Avenue Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District. In partnership with Prosper Portland and Portland Housing Bureau, this position will coordinate community engagement, support the Community Leadership Committee (CLC), and serve as the liaison between the community and the City throughout TIF-related processes and implementation. The TIF Community Development Manager position requires the ability to build trust and remove barriers to communication in order to reach communities historically excluded from engagement with government initiatives around urban development. This is a pivotal opportunity to help shape equitable development along 82nd Avenue – ensuring that residents, small business owners, and workers have a strong voice and real power in how public investments are made.

Community Engagement Specialist
Yamhill Community Care
Location: Local Hybrid: Local to the McMinnville, OR area, with flexibility to work both remotely and/or in-person at YCCO's office in McMinnville.
The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing contractually aligned community engagement strategies, including ensuring the collection of feedback from and sharing of information with the Yamhill Community Care (YCCO) service area community; overseeing a feedback loop between community input, YCCO staff and leadership, and the Board of Directors; and developing pathways for relationship development within the community.
Essential Duties
- Serves as Administrator for the Community Advisory Council (CAC), ensuring compliance with all OHA contract-required activities and deliverables related to the CAC.
- Conducts a Community Health Assessment and continued assessment work throughout the community at least every five years in compliance with the YCCO contract and other accreditation opportunities.
- Leads in the development, execution, and maintenance of community engagement strategy for YCCO.
- Support and engage with federally recognized Tribes, sharing resources and promoting awareness of Tribal sovereignty.
