A new school year has begun! We are thrilled to welcome over 45 new and returning faces to our flagship after-school program at Debnam House. We anticipate serving an additional 75 students at Harlan Elementary School in our satellite program, which will kick off later this fall.
In order to accommodate our growing student body, we have added two new choir levels! Each Choir School student is assigned a choir level, which places them in rehearsals at an appropriate level of musical challenge. Our three longstanding levels are FUNdamentals (beginners), Junior Varsity (intermediate), and Varsity (advanced). New this year are the Preparatory Singers (for our youngest choristers) and the Young Artist Scholars, a small cohort of senior high students and recent high school graduates who serve in leadership roles and receive highly advanced instruction.
We kicked off the year with Back to Choir School Night, where students, families, and volunteers shared a potluck dinner, caught up after an exciting summer, and went over important information for the season. The meeting also marked the launch of a new Parent-Teacher Association, which will help with volunteer needs across the Choir School!
