Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteer Coordinator
Many current members, as well as new ones, are eager to help our club! We have several volunteer opportunities, ranging from helping set up programs to working a weekly 2-hour shift in HQ, to serving on a committee, and many more. To place the volunteers in their desired position, we need a Volunteer Coordinator. The VC will keep track of the positions needed and the volunteers who would like to fill the positions. It’s like “putting the right person in the right place at the right time.”

The VC will receive volunteer names from HQ staff, volunteer needs from Board members, then do the work from home in any manner they choose — a simple list or a spreadsheet. If you are interested or have questions, email:

The “redistricting system” grid maps are scheduled to be available to the public by September 14, 2021.

We encourage everyone to use the “redistricting system” on the IRC’s website to propose changes to the grid maps.

Submit maps to the commission by taking the training provided by the commission to learn to draw a map.

Consider the following criteria when drawing your map:
We want Fair and Competitive maps
We want our maps to uphold the Voting Rights Act
We want our maps to protect candidates of color
We want our maps to protect voters of color
The National Climate Change Report is out.

July’s temperatures were above the 20th-century average, tying with 1954 and 2003 for the warmest July in the 127-year record.
