Library Announcements


  • There is a possibility the library will be closed September 2nd to 4th due to HVAC maintenance activities. We will strive to be open if at all possible. A reminder that the Computer Lab in room 202 and the 4th floor Student Lounge are also available for use whenever the library is closed.


  • All students, faculty, and staff of the Roanoke Higher Education Center are invited to attend Back-to-School Night in the RHEC Courtyard on Thursday, September 11th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The RHEC will provide FREE vouchers for a food truck on-site, as well as games, giveaways, and prizes. Booths representing RHEC Student Services will be present, including the Library! So come say hi! Please RSVP to guarantee your food voucher.
  • National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 16th! Not registered to vote yet? Drop by the library on the 16th, and we can help! Already registered to vote? We will also be providing handouts and information on mail-in voting and early voting. Either way, stop by for some freebies and treats!


Deadlines to keep in mind for this November's general election:

  • First day of in-person early voting at your local registrar's office: September 19, 2025
  • Deadline to register to vote, or update an existing registration: October 24, 2025
  • Deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you: October 24, 2025
  • Last day of in-person early voting: November 1, 2025
  • Election day!: November 4, 2025

Friday, September 5th | 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Join our newest community program all about tabletop gaming! Several popular board games will be provided, as well as drinks and snacks. Players are encouraged to bring their favorite board game with them.

This monthly art program is free and open to the community. All supplies will be provided, as well as drinks and snacks!

Tuesday, September 23rd | 6:00 pm. - 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are invited to share their work (or work they admire) in a safe, judgment-free space. Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided.
