This Month's Book Display:
Banned Books Week
September 26th - October 2nd is Banned Books Week! Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read, and highlighting the importance of free and open access to information.

This month the library is displaying books in our collection that were censored, banned, or challenged in 2020 in schools and libraries across the country. Check out the list of titles below, and see how many you've read!
Library Card Sign-up Month
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the RHEC Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind communities that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.

To celebrate, the Library will be encouraging new and current students, as well as the faculty and staff of the RHEC, to sign-up for their very own RHEC Library card.

As a bonus, anyone who signs up for an RHEC library card between September 1-30 will be entered to win an Amazon Kindle e-reader!
National Voter Registration Day:
Get #VoteReady!
The RHEC Library will participate in National Voter Registration Day for the second year on September 28, 2021. We will be providing voter registration forms as well as absentee ballot request forms, envelopes, and postage to any visitors for FREE. We will also have computer stations open to visitors for them to register to vote or request an absentee ballot online.

The library has also put together a helpful Election Factsheet for anyone interested in voting in the November 2nd General Election. It has information about deadlines, where, when, and how you can register to vote, learn about your ballot, and ultimately vote to have your voice heard. We highly recommend checking it out, even if you're already confident you're #VoteReady. You may learn something new!
Book Purchasing Suggestions
Is there a new book you're dying to read? Need a study guide we don't own? Think we should carry more material on a particular subject?

Please let us know! We're here to serve the RHEC Community, and want to stay updated on what you want and need. With that in mind, we've opened up a new Purchasing Suggestions form on our website. Feel free to recommend books, journals, newspapers, or media you'd like to see us add to the collection.
