So much has happened throughout the month of September, Be sure to check out the upcoming events. Don't miss out on the October fun!
Leader In Me Update

Throughout the month of September we have focused on Habit 1: Be Proactive. Students have learned how Habit 1 can help them take charge of themselves in social situations. RHS Varsity football players visited Lyon on Wednesday to share ways students can be proactive within the school as well as on the field. Congratulations to our Lyon Leaders of the Month pictured below.
What I Need (WIN) Time

We've been actively engaged in WIN time each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. During this time, students are focused on a rotation of essential skills teachers have deemed as the "meatiest" standards within the content. It is so important your child arrives to school on time each morning due to this time being earmarked to allow ALL staff to support Lyon's 400 students within their level of need.

Current grade level focuses include:

K: Letter identification
1: Letter identification and sounds
2: Place Value
3: Addition and Subtraction
4: Place Value
5: Place Value

  • Wildly Important Goals (WIGS) were created by each classroom teacher embedding Quick Writes and Formative Assessments within their weekly writing lessons.

Math:   Above 80% of Lyon students will meet or exceed all quarterly math standards.
  • WIN time will be used to focus on necessary skills students will need to meet grade level expectations

Attendance:   Lyon’s monthly goal is to have 93% of students at 90% attendance or above.
  • All students with 98% monthly attendance or above will attend the Great 98 celebration
Discipline: Lyon will have 19 or less discipline referrals each month.
  • Lyon will continue the implementation of Leader In Me to focus on the 7 Habits
