September Edition

A Message from the Mayor

I hope everyone had a fun and safe summer break!

With school now back in session, it’s important to be aware that more kids will be out on our streets and sidewalks – walking, wheeling, cycling, boarding or bussing their way to and from class. We all have a role to play in keeping students and families safe this school year. The City of Vaughan is also doing its part to improve road safety by reducing speed limits in five additional neighbourhoods and along 15 City roadways. By working together and taking just a few small steps, we can make our city a safer and more sustainable place to live and work.

Townhalls are back this month and I would like to hear from you! Please join me this Monday, September 18 at 6:30pm at Vellore Village Community Centre.

There are many events coming up this month and I look forward to seeing you there!

IN THE NEWS

For more than 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II was Canada’s Queen. Over a year ago, Vaughan joined communities across the country and the Commonwealth to mourn her passing. Together with members of the community, our Council and staff proudly dedicated Vaughan City Hall’s central fountain in honour of her lifelong commitment to public service. Queen Elizabeth II’s charitable endeavours and passion for meaningful causes leave an inspiring legacy for us to follow. As residents and staff walk past the fountain when visiting City Hall, they will be reminded of her unwavering sense of duty. Queen Elizabeth II’s dedication to Canada and Canadians will forever remain an important part of our country’s history.
