September 2017

Summer has begun her slow fade to Fall. And at Owl's Hill, Fall brings several of our favorite events - Girl Scout Camp Out, Art & Nature Adventure Day and looking into October, Fall Fairyland and the Enchanted Forest.

It also brings the weekly Fall Color Hikes led by our fabulous volunteer team - Denis Lovell and Richard Hitt.

September brings the season finale of our Music in the Meadow concert series with Jazz in the Meadow. Bring a picnic and relax to the smooth sounds from the NJO Quartet.

It's a Fall Full of Fun - so don't miss one moment of the great public programs at Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary.
Welcome, Susan Duvenhage

Susan Duvenhage
Executive Director, Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary

Susan B. Duvenhage has been named president and executive director of Owls Hill Nature Sanctuary. Margaret Cameron, who served as executive director for more than five years, announced her intention to retire earlier this year.

Duvenhage, formerly president and CEO of Nashville's Adventure Science Center from 2007 to 2016, brings a depth of nonprofit leadership, organizational and fiscal management and community relations skills coupled with a passion for the great outdoors to Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary.

"I see many parallels between managing the informal learning environment of the Science Center and the partner-centric informal learning work of Owl's Hill," she said. "I am excited and confident about beginning the next chapter in the Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary story."

Welcome Trailwalkers

Who are Trailwalkers?
Trailwalkers are donors of $250 or more during the year.
When can we come walk/hike the trails?
Our 10 miles of trails are open to you to walk whenever Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary is open. Gates are open 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and  Sundays 1 p.m. - 4 p.m . Hiking privileges do not include admission to programs that may be going on during your visit.  We hope to see you on the trails!

How do I become a Trailwalker?
Not sure if we're open?
